Flying into Orlando Sanford, can we take the Magical Express?

I booked my Disneyworld package before booking my airfare. We're staying at a Disneyworld hotel on-site. When I made the reservation, I selected the Disney Magical Express transportation option, which offered me the ability to edit the reservation with my flight at a later time. I just went to update my reservation, and after much issue and confusion, just realized that I'm flying into Orlando Sanford, not Orlando International! This was unintentional -- I wasn't aware that there are two airports in Orlando -- but, as my flight is only a week away, it's too expensive to change at this point. We have two young children with us and were looking forward to taking the Magical Express to our hotel.

My Question
My question is, if we take a taxi from Orlando Sanford to Orlando International, are we still able to use the Magical Express to take us the remaining distance to our Disneyworld hotel? And, if not, how would you recommend getting from Orlando Sanford to our hotel at Disneyworld?

Many thanks in advance! :)

Yes you can, but if it were me, I'd just take the taxi (or other shuttle/car service) right to my WDW resort and get my vacation started ASAP.

Thanks, Rich! So there's no reason to take the Magical Express then?

Not if you're arriving at Sanford. And remember- you'd be schlepping your luggage with you to MCO and onto Magical Express. You'll save a big chunk of time, not to mention energy, by heading directly from Sanford to WDW.

It's aprox a 50 mile drive from SFB to WDW so it would be a very expensive taxi ride.
A couple of town car services are available but you are looking $220 + taxes and gratuities RT and up.
A rental car is a good option but this close to arrival, not sure how good of a price you will be able to get on that for a last minute rental.
On the plus side, Sanford is a nice small airport that is easy to navigate and the rental car facilities are literally right outside baggage claim on the other side of the road. If you decide on a rental, follow the Disney signs onto SR-417, its a toll road (need about $5 for tolls) and its a nice easy drive that takes about an hour to Disney property.
Here's some info that may help:

I've had good luck finding last minute rental deals from Sanford, and the drive is easy. Ain't nuthin' "magical" about the Magical Express, anyway. ;)

If you rent from Alamo at Sanford you can do a grocery stop and later drop off at the Disney Car care center. It is an easy drive.
