Flying into Burbank?

We have always flown into either Orange County or Long Beach. Some of the flights into Burbank are much better deals. How does Burbank compare? Any info on taxi fares to and from there vs. the other 2? Thanks!

Burbank (Bob Hope) is in the northern part of Los Angeles, and a long way on a congested freeway.

The cheapest way is to use the Metrolink Train from the BUR airport to Union Station, and transfer to the trains that service Fullerton,and then a Bus or taxi/uber/lyft,

A taxi is over $100 and more expensive than LAX. Uber/Lyft would be cheaper, but still a lot, and the drive would be about a hour or more in heavy traffic.

I like the airport in size, much better than LAX, but not a good choice for getting to Disneyland. Same with Ontario (ONT).

We've flown into Burbank twice when we did conventions in Burbank before going to Disneyland. It was convenient for the convention when going in, yes. But the hassle getting back from Disneyland did not make it worth it.

We've thought about Burbank. An Alamo rental from Burbank to DTD would only be about $60.00 one-day, one-way, so $120.00 total (pickup 9am - drop off 5pm same day). Not cheap by any means, but awfully convenient!

We drive since it's only 7 hours and it's so much cheaper than flying, even after you factor in $100.00+ for the valet parking at the Grand.

Burbank is my favorite local airport due to its size and layout. But, if you go there, you're better off renting a car than taking a taxi. The drive isn't bad if you come in on a weekend and/or avoid rush hours (6AM-9AM and 3PM-7PM weekdays). From Burbank, I want to say it's about 40-50 minutes without traffic, 60-80 minutes with traffic.

Maybe fly into Burbank and add on a visit to Universal Hollywood as your first stop?

As mentioned above, you can use Metrolink from the same station but that involves switching trains in LA, and Metrolink won't help you with baggage AFAIK (it's a commuter train).

Thanks . . . we decided on Orange County because the prices were close to Long Beach. Burbank sounds like it is just way too much of a hassle for the little money saved (IMO at least). But thank you to everyone for the great input!

AMTRAK does not offer luggage handling at the Burbank Airport stop, and there is a long wait at Union Station. You are looking at over 90 minutes overall.

I still say use the Fullerton Station over the Anaheim Station (ARTIC)

More trains service Fullerton than Anaheim, you get off the train quicker, the station is small and compact, making it easy to catch a Taxi/Uber/Lyft, or the OCTA Route 543/43 buses. And sometimes the fare is a bit cheaper.
