It's been about 18 months since our last trip but I am :scared: at the prices I'm seeing which are ~$300pp RT. Do they still run the 59/79 each way or is that a thing of the past? I was hoping to get away with 3 tickets for about $600, not $900.

I booked 8/21-8/27 out of Islip the first day the schedule opened. It was $120 each way for the first non stop out and the last non stop back. Not they are both $195 each way. I do not know if they will even come down again

I booked SWA ISP-MCO a couple of weeks ago 8/22-9/2. I'm paying $110 down and $121 back. Those flights are now $191 and $202. I'm hoping they drop since the flight home is a really crappy time. The flight I wanted to book for the way home was $121 from the day it was released. )f course when I finally went to book it it was $202.

My sister is paying $191 and $151 8/20-8/28.

I'm happy with a 200 r/t fare. Are you flexible with dates?

Try playing around on www.kayak.com

I did see fares of 207 r/t in August but flying Wed to Wed.

We fly from Syracuse, NY (and sometimes Buffalo).

Last August, our flights on Jetblue were $290 pp return (non-stop flights) from Syracuse.

This year, same time period, flights were $330 pp return (again, non-stop each way via Jetblue). We purchased for both trips in January of the same year. Current prices for the same flights we have for August 2013 have increased to $460 pp, round trip.

Our Christmas flights were $375 pp, round trip, non-stop from Buffalo. One way via Airtran, home via Jetblue. This price included seat selection and baggage costs with Airtran.

When the SW and AT schedules were first released for the end of August for flights from Buffalo, we did see one-way non-stops around $125 pp.

Check flights to Tampa as well. With the money you save, you very well may be able to cover the costs of a rental car for the duration of your trip and still have leftover $$$.

For JFK -> TPA on 8/21 - 8/27, you can get round trip for $180 per person on Jet Blue, which includes one checked bag per person.

I haven't seen 59/79 each way in a while...lowest I've booked is 89

We are going 8/23-8/30. So far I booked the trip there for 100 from BDL. I watched the price for awhile it went up to 249 at one point and was back down again that night so I booked the one way and I'm hoping the trip back goes down

Reading the posts on here got me worried so I changed my dates to go Tue-Tue instead of Mon-Mon and was able to get flights for $250pp RT. I would prefer Mon-Mon but that was $360 RT x 3 tickets so Tuesday it is. I was anticipating $200 but I'm OK with $250 and my boss didn't mind the weird vacation dates. Thanks to all for the input!

We booked Jetblue 8/22-9/13 (Tues-Mon) for 266 RT pp. This is the cheapest it has been since the dates were released. If it goes on sale closer to the travel dates, I will get a credit to use for next year.

Thanks. I prefer sw from Islip.

What do you have to do to get a credit? I figured I should be prepared just in case... :rotfl:

We are flying AT out of Buffalo to Orlando $199 pp rt direct flight and we booked the day after flights were released the dates are Aug. 18-31. Pretty great prices considering we are traveling down on a Sunday and back home on a Saturday.

From Philly, I was getting used to $59-$79 one way, but in the last year or two, I've changed my benchmark fare to about $200 round trip. If I get close to that, I'm more or less satisfied.
