We'll be flying out of Indianapolis to MCO in December. Our flight leaves about 8:00am and, since we live two hours away, I'm thinking about staying in Indy the night before. Can anyone rec. a cheap but relatively pleasant hotel near the airport?

Any info or suggestions would be welcome!

If you are flying ATA, the airport Radisson is right next to the airport, and they offerred my Mom an ATA park/fly rate of $99+tax. I know not the cheapest hotel, but it does include your parking which IMO makes it a good deal. They will shuttle you to the airport and pick you up upon your return. Again, this rate is only for people flying ATA though. I can let you know how it goes After the 26th if you like :)

I have also stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and the Amerisuites which are also near the airport and offer shuttle service to and from the airport and parking (Courtyard charged an additional fee for the parking-Amerisuites did not). Both were decent places to stay :)

I have stayed at La Quinta and used the park and fly. About $99 per night but my parking would have been about $45 in the long term lot so it was $54 for the room. This is a nice place and the rooms are very clean. They get a lot of park and fly business and the competition is hot for this business.

We had originally booked an early morning flight out of IND, but they cancelled our flight and we rebooked out of DAY. We had reservations at the Hampton Inn Airport in Indy. Although we haven't stayed there (and now won't), I've never been disappointed with any of the 15-20 Hampton Inn's I've stayed at. They are very reliable and have a consistently good free continental breakfast beginning at 6:00AM. It would have been $79 for the room plus $20 for the park-fly option.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! DISers are the best.

We just got back. We stayed at the Comfort Inn - west. Nice hotel and the shuttle service was on time. They didn't charge any extra for parking. Unfortunely, the weekend we flew out was also the weekend of the Formula One race so the rates where high but it was also the only hotel with a room within 30 minutes of the airport. We have also stayed at the Fairfield Inn which is also nice and the shuttle service was timely.

Hope that helps!
