We're doing DDP and were thinking of taking our DS6 and DD4.5 to Flying Fish with us for dinner. Are we nuts? They're really good in restaurants if there's enough to see and do and snack on. I've heard that this is one of the most kid friendly signature restaurants onsite. They did a meal at Jiko a year ago and were fine.

Would you take kids those ages to FF?

Yes, I would. As a plus, their children's menu has some good food on it in addition to the ubiquitous chicken nuggets and Mac n' Cheese. :thumbsup2

Oh no my kids LOVE the ubiquitous chicken nuggets and mac n' cheese :rotfl:

that means I'll secretly be happy ;)

Our just turned six and just turned seven year old did fine here last year. And I LOVED it.

We always enjoy at least 2 meals here each visit which is about twice a year since ds now 15 was 6. He is a very adventurous eater and not ordered from a kid menu since he was very young. However, we always see kids at FF and the servers are amazing. The kitchen staff is accomodating and will make smaller portions of main items or things like plain risotto if asked. We have often seen them deliver non menu items to little guests. In January we did notice that families with kids were being seated more toward the back of the restaurant which was nice. When mine was little I was always worried he would disturb others with loud talking or playing on the floor with a toy. It is definitely a kid friendly place. If your kids made it at Jiko this will be a breeze. One thing I have done with my son since hubby hates WDW and never travels with us is this: we might place our order and then go outside and watch a juggler and then return for our appetizer or, take a stroll in the candy shop while we are waiting on our entree. If the place is full it can take a little while to get all of your courses in. Ask for Theresa, Joe or Joey - they are our favs.

Flying Fish is very kid-friendly. They will do fine and you will enjoy a wonderful meal. Just one word of warning: To get to the bathroom, you have to go through a candy store! So be prepared for that.

Our youngest was about 3 months old the first time she went to Flying Fish! They are wonderful with kids, we've done my oldest daughter's birthday dinner there twice (5th & 6th birthdays) and they treated her like (what else) a princess.

Definitely kid friendly.

FF is a fine restaurant. My DS10 loves their signature meals and does not like their kid menu.

FF is fantastic. We took our daughter there when she was 2, 3, and 9. She had a good time and liked the kids' menu every time. There is lots of "fish art" all over the restaurant, and it's fun to ask them to try to find them all (some are in the carpet, in the chandeliers, doorhandles, etc.). It's definitely worth a try if you like fish -- they have a great snapper there!

I agree with everything said, our children really enjoyed FF, but yes! the bathroom is not FF's own...it is a Boardwalk public restroom and yes, you must go through the candy store/ice cream counter. Be prepared for this not only for the novelties, but for the long lines we encountered as well.
(And it just wasn't as nice as what you would expect for a restaurant such as FF...clean though!)
