Flying Fish...what's good?

This restaurant seems to be very well thought of on these boards. Is it very fancy? What menu items to you recommend? How is the lobster salad? Thanks.

It's upscale for Disney, but not very formal/fancy. The decor is rather whimsical and it is a very nice restaurant.

Crab cakes are great. Lobster bisque is very yummy. Had a butternut squash ravioli there once which was out of this world.

DH also loves the rare tuna and I like the potato encrusted redfish.

The charred ny strip is the best steak anywhere at WDW...Also, ANYTHING with their rissotto gets my vote.

I agree with Peter Pirate. The steak is to die for. To make it a fun experience ask for a seat at the Bar. You'll have great interaction with the wait staff and chefs and don't be surprised if liitle unexpected goodies come your way.

dh loves the rare ahi tuna. I love the red snapper wrapped in potato. The have wonderful, imaginative appetizers. crab cakes, fried oysters are very, very good. service is excellent.

we always dine here at least once every trip. wait staff remember us and always bring us a few extra goodies.

agree, the strip steak is very, very good.

never had a bad meal here..always fresh, great presentation, good selection of wines and friendly service by a staff who knows the menu and isn't afraid to help you pick just the right dinner.

the have a kids menu...and the place always seems to have many happy campers dining there too!

Hubby and BIL raved on the steak!! The Potato Wrapped Red Snapper was wonderful!!

The scallops were a bust!! My 16yo son ordered them, and got 5 tiny scallops on some weird tasting sauce. He had to go get a pizza somewhere to get some food!!

It is very pricy, however. Our bill for 5 without alcohol was almost $200.00.

If you have bottomless pit teenagers, Flying Fish is not the place to go!!
