Trying to decide between FF or Yachtsman fir a 2 credit dinner. Any help would be appreciated!

Flying Fish is my favorite of the restaurants considered to be Disney signature.

Yachsman ranks about 6th on that list.

I'd vote for Yachtsman.

We've done both restaurants in the past two months and you'll be happy with either. We just like Yachtsman better because we like the menu there.

I love both restaurants! I think they are both wonderful! However, if I had to choose, I would pick Flying Fish Cafe. It has a slight edge imo. I have dined at both places twice each. I absolutely love the Potato Wrapped Red Snapper at the FF, and the Ribeye at the YM. My DH loves loves loves the char crusted New York Strip at FF. I had great service at both places, especially FF. That is a tough choice, so I would say go with what menu looks the best to you, and judge for yourself.

I would choose Flying Fish, but you really can't go wrong with either.

Flying Fish is my favorite Signature restaurant, whereas Yachtsman would rank around 5th or 6th. At FF, I love the tomato/mozarella salad, cheese plate, or mussels for an appetizer, the scallops or char crusted steak for an entree, and whichever desert trio they're serving that night. FF is the only restaurant where I always love all three of my courses and would go back just for any of those courses. Yatchsman is OK, but I prefer FF's char crusted steak to any steak I've ever had at Yachtsman and I am also not a big fan of any of the appetizers or desserts at Yachtsman. Yachtsman used to have a really good seafood salad appetizer, but they changed it several years ago and the new one is no where near as good. I do like the lamb at Yachtsman though. Yeah, I go to Flying Fish for their steak and to Yachtsman for their lamb. lol

We've been to both, but prefer Flying Fish. Yachtsman was good, but just basically steak. The menu at FF is much more imaginative.

is the question. Yes both restaurants serve token dishes of the other sort to please large parties but that's not their proficiency.

My preference is Flying Fish. That's probably due to two things: 1) I think cooking fish well is harder than cooking steak well and 2) I travel a lot on business and end up in a lot of high end steak places so a good fish place place is welcome.

As so often is the case, I agree with Pakey. And Aubriee is right--the steak at FF is as good as anything you'll find at Yachtsman

Have not been to Yachtman's but have to put a vote in for Flying Fish. My favorite restaurant. DH, DD, and I eat there twice on our family trips every year, then I also eat there on my girl's trip. The Potato Encrusted Snapper is awesome;)

That is a tough one because we love them both and dine at both of them every trip. We have had excellent service at both. My vote would go to Flying Fish however, since the strip steak served there is our families hands down favorite strip steak anywhere. I usually always get fish, but I always taste a piece of one of my son's steaks...so good. So, you have the option of an excellent steak as well as all the unique fish dishes at Flying Fish.

FF is one of my favorites. :thumbsup2

Hootch is right. Steak or seafood.

We did both a month back and had a great time at both. The food is excellent at both as is the service and atmosphere. The only problem I had at Yachtsmen was I ate way too much and had to be rolled home.

In the end you can't go wrong with your choice.

If you do go to FF do try their signature dish the potato wrapped red snapper. It is to die for dish. For desert try the Banana Napoleon.

FF is so good. We went twice this past trip 3 weeks ago. If you want steak, their steak is incredible. The other entrees are so good too (snapper, tuna) as are the apps (mussels, tomato & mozz.) & dessert (the apple tart thing was amazing). Its one of my favorite restaurants in Disney now.

Yachtsman is just a steakhouse with Prime prices but not certified Prime steak. If you have a Ruth's Chris or Morton's near your hometown then skip YS and head to FF for a more unique meal. If your family is strictly meat and potatoes then pick YS.

Exactly! Hands down Flying Fish.:thumbsup2

My wife and I get down to Disney almost every other year. We had eaten at every signature restaurant at Disney except Yachtsman. We're trying Yachtsman this year, though based on relative majority good reviews.

Flying Fish is our favorite. Red Snapper is amazing. I do not like scallops ordinarily; theirs is unbelievably good. Haven't tried the steak simply because they are a seafood place. It's so good, I'd eat there twice in one week.

It's not a traditional seafood place because this is Disney and the lines are totally blurred. Therefore, although it seems like a 'seafood place', the steak is actually the best entree on the menu.

The Yachtsman used to serve prime beef but stopped several years ago. When we are looking for a wonderful steak dinner at WDW, Shula's can't be beat.
