Flying Fish or Spoodles

We will be at WDW Dec 2-10. It is an adult trip so we want to try new restuarants. We are planning on going to BC & YC to see the holiday decorations. We would like to go to Jelly Rolls. What restuarant would be better Flying Fish or Spoodles? Any hints or suggestions for Boardwalk would be greatly appreciated.

I've only eaten at Spoodles so I really can't judge fairly, but we had a wonderful meal for probably half of what we would have paid at Flying Fish. The atmosphere at Spoodles seems more laid back that at FF, if that matters.

The menu at Spoodles offered more culturally different selections than FF, also.

I don't think you will go wrong no matter which restaurant you choose.

"Better for what?" is the question. Flying Fish is a fine restaurant; Spoodles is an excellent restaurant, with an eclectic menu, and it is our favorite, but it isn't (and isn't intended to be) a "fine" restaurant.

I think FF is much the better restaurant.
Haven't been to Spoodles for a # of years..

The decision to eat at one of the "better" Boardwalk restaurants is because for the first time this will be a no kids trip. We were going to also go to the JellyRolls while we were there. I would love to eat at a nice place adult place. I hope that clears up a little bit of mud. :teeth:

So, for those in the know...

Should we assume that FF is more adult-oriented and Spoodles more family-friendly? I know nearly all the restaurants welcome children but in reality is this what makes it the difference between fine and "non-fine" :rotfl2:

We enjoyed the food at both places. I would suggest looking at the menus and decide based on what type of food you want. I agree that Flying Fish is a bit more adult oriented, although we've taken our son when he was 3 and 4 years old. The potato wrapped red snapper is yummy!

About $14 per entree. :rotfl:

I agree with everything that has been said. FF is more along the lines of upscale dining if you like fish. I have taken my kids (DDs 7 and 7) there every time I have been there and have found it to be very good for kids. I just wish you did not have to pass through the candy store every time you try to take the kids to the bathroom.

Spoodles is also good, a little more casual, if you like tapas. It is a different experience. My kids actually like the menu better at FF.

Good luck!

Then I would suggest Yachtsman Steakhouse - there are always minimal kids there and it is more intimate then FF or Spoodles. Also - don't rule out Swan/Dolphin restaurants if you are not on the meal plan. All are close to Jellyrolls (which - by the way is my fav place in WDW for drinks!)

Been to both. (We have given Spoodles 4-5 tries) FF is a MUCH better restaurant IMO.
