I have an ADR for Flying Fish, we were there in 2001 and loved it. However, I have been reading some reviews on Narcoossee's and it sounds really good! I was thinking of changing our ADR but I'm not sure. Which would you pick?

Both are good. Which ever you pick, you won't be disappointed. Since you've never been to Narcoossee's, then I'd say give it a shot.

We ate at Flying Fish for the first time on our last trip (late April/early May 2008). The service was excellent but the food was just OK for me and bad for my DH since they cooked his steak well done (he ordered medium well).

My DH wouldn't let the waitress or the manager get another steak for him (he should have) and the manager inisted on compinghis meal. Again the service was exceptional. That said, I was expecting better food. I had the potato encrusted snapper (one of their signature meals) and IMHO, it was tasteless. It was disappointing since I'd heard so many good things about the place. We won't be going agin, I'm afraid.

We did enjoy Narcoosees on a previous trip (October 2007). Good food and good service (not quite as good as FF, thoguh).

Citricos is currently my favorite restaurant (tried for the first time on our April/May 2008 trip) - exeptional food and service. The CG is a very, very close second.

OP - since you haven't tried Narcooses, give it a try and see what you think. In the end, that's all that really matters.

I have eaten at both and I would highly recommend Narcoossee's over Flying Fish. If the server named Chevy is still working, I would ask for him - he seemed to know exactly what I would like and all of his recommendations were "spot on".

Never ate at FF, but DH & I love Narcoossee's, have been there at least 1/2 dozen times over last several trips (it used to count as one meal "point" on the dining plan). Surf and turf, I would guess their signature dish, is always good. That is all DH gets. I love the butternut squash soup when they have it. Don't be afraid to ask the wait staff for help, they always seem to make good suggestions !!

Another vote for Narcoossee's - we had a terrible dining experience at FF. Great service there, but the food was horrid :confused3

Thanks for posting - so many people here raved about FF that I thought we must either have hit a very bad day for the kitchen or be totally out of touch with the masses. :teeth:

I wonder if FF recently got a new chef? Anyone know for sure?

They did, about a year ago, maybe a bit more.

Have been there twice recently and liked it, going again next Sunday.

I'll throw in a dissenting voice ...

Of the two I would stay with Flying Fish. Narcoossee's was good, but Flying Fish has better seafood with more variety and unique presentation.

Keep in mind, however, that it's been a year since we've eaten at FF and about 8 months since we've been to Narcoossee's so many things may have changed but based on our experiences we would go to Flying Fish first.

Whatever you decide I hope you have a great time!

Wow, that's a hard decision, in fact, I don't think I can choose between the 2.

We ate at FF 9/06, 4/07 and 2/08. Great all 3 times. Narcoossee's 9/07 and 12/07. I have to say the 1st time at Narcoossee's was better than the last. I'd probably base my desicion on my touring plans and see which one I was going to be closest to that day.

Both restaurants are very good, but I would have to give a slight edge to Flying Fish. We've had no problems with the food or the service at either, but Flying Fish is, at most times, a bit less hectic than Narcoossee's.

Never ate at Fly Fish but just ate at Narccoossee's in April. It was Great!

Oh dear, I hope FF has improved from these reviews. We chose it for our anniversary dinner. The menu *sounds* fabulous.

Narcoossee's is wonderful, OP. I can't compare but it's worth a shot. I think these boards have contributed to it's popularity at the moment. When we first tried it a couple years ago, board consensus seemed to be that it wasn't great ... but now it's trendy again. :-)

How soon do you need to know? We are going to Narcoosee's, Flying Fish, Cali Grill, and Citrico's in August. We'll be posting reviews and photos of all of them! :)

We haven't tried FF yet, but we always go to Narcoossee's. It is our favorite! We have always had an excellent meal, great service, and a nice atomosphere. I would recommend it to anyone!

Isn't med well/well done basically the same thing? I would hardly call that "bad" for your husband. Either way you are ruining a perfectly good peice of meat. :thumbsup2

I would give FF another try. We've been more times than we can count, and it still continues to be the most consistent restaurant on wdw property.

Same here. It's the one WDW restaurant we go to every trip. The food and service have been consistently excellent.
