I like both of them. I was at FF last weekend, loved that. But I am intrigued by the new chef at Jiko (formerly of LeCellier and his food/wine pairings were excellent)

Hmmm.....I was leaning more towards FF so that I can see the Boardwalk. We already have an ADR at Boma so I'll get to see AKL either way but now I'm thinking of going with Jiko based on the poll results.

If I had to pick only one, it would be Jiko (which is what I picked in the poll). However, both are great restaurants and I will go to both on my next trip to WDW in 2008.

I would recommend Flying Fish; the new chef there is much better than the former one. He's much more inventive, and even our server told us that, in 25 years of working in food service, he is the best chef she's ever worked with. I wouldn't go that far, but he's very, very good!

We haven't been to Jiko since Chef Annette left, but she always underwhelmed us. Perhaps the new chef will turn it around, though, as we weren't really Flying Fish fans until this new chef came along.

Cheers!

I'd actually do both. Tell us a bit about yourself and your party and maybe we can steer you to one or the other.

We've been to Jiko several times and we love it. It's on our must do list.

We have done Flying Fish once, and didn't see why there is such a fuss about this place. It was okay, but nothing above that. We would return if it was the only place we could get food, but it's toward the bottom of our list. :smokin:

We went to both! I wouldn't miss either. They are wonderful restaurants.

There's me, Dh and DD4. Dh isn't too big on fish or food from other cultures. He's your basic meat and potatoes guy but likes to try other stuff at least. DD4 usually eats anything as long as it doesn't look bad.
I like to try everything.

Thanks for filling us in. I guess I'd probably give the edge to Jiko. You can get a really good filet with Mac&Cheese (not the kiddie kind) dish there that should satisfy your husband. Check out the menu at http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_jiko.htm

First off let me agree, Chef Annette always underwhelmed us as well ... But... Can I vehemently disagree on FF? The new chef (forgot his name) at FF is good but IMO he's not as creative as Chef Jens (now at California Grill) or Chef John who preceded Chef Jens at both FF and CG (and flew the coup thanks to the DDP). As for the servers, since there are very few left from the 'hey days' they aren't in much position to compare, IMO. Sorry for the rant and I know we are all entitled to our own, but FF has been my favorite restaurant for quite some time so my opinion means a lot...Well, to me, anyway.:rotfl2:
