Flying Fish Chef Table Review

So does this mean you can no longer sit and eat at the bar for no extra charge as it always was?

This is the second review in as many days that I've seen on the Chef's table and we've booked it for October! FF is one of our favorite places and we usually make it there at least once every trip. REALLY looking forward to it!:thumbsup2

Excellent review! We love FF and this seems like it would definitely take the dining experience there to the next level.

I have the Chef's table booked for Oct. I hope we have your same menu. Everything you were served is on my list of personal favorites. Thanks for sharing your experience. Great review.

That looked amazing!! I think I may have to switch one of my dinners this September...hmmmm......Thanks so much for that review!!:worship:

Chefs Table now at FF? :worship: Be still my heart!:love:

Thanks for your wonderful review and pics. It looked fabulous.
We are going to FF on our upcoming trip. I wonder if its to late to get Chefs Table?

Thanks for sharing! I'd never be able to do this with my boyfriend (he's not really big on fish, but I love it!) but it might be something I can do if I can ever get a solo trip done!!

A note on the white vs red...it actually has more to do with the body of the wine than whether it's red or white when pairing. Generally, reds are fuller bodied than whites, which is why they go with meats. It doesn't surprise me that the red they paired with the fish was a Pinot Noir as they tend to be lighter. If they paired a Cab-Sav with it, I'd be surprised! Likewise, if you have a traditional meat, you can pair a heavier white with it. A mushroom dish is a good example. It can easily be paired with a light-medium bodied red, but you can also use say a good Riesling or Oaked Chardonnay. When we were at Napa Rose, my boyfriend and I split a Riesling, I had mushrooms and he had duck, paired well with both! (I can't drink red.)

Anyway :rolleyes1 sorry for the wine lesson, I'm becoming a wine geek apparently  Thanks again for posting the review, everything looked fabulous!

Nobody know's?

You might be able to. But seeing as how this is so new, it might be a few months before people start to trickle in from trying it and are able to report back! Definitely try calling the restaurant if you're heading down soon!

Thank you so much for your review! The food sounds and looks gorgeous, and for all you get, what an excellent value! We are dining at FF for the first time in a few weeks, and the only day we can really fit it in is a Saturday. Boo-hoo! Well, something to think about for NEXT time...:)

Thanks so much for your wonderful review and photos

We are going to be trying FF for the first time on our next trip but I would love to 'upgrade' to this menu :goodvibes

A fantastic review, thank you for posting. I have booked this for our trip next Easter.

Great review. Had only done Flying Fish once, with sorta mixed reviews. Your Chef's Table write up makes me want to rethink it, try this again. Thanks.

i was going to write almost exactly that (quoted above)! we went one time last month based on a VERY strong recommendation from a friend. i actually sent my meal back it was so bad--but then what the waiter brought me (totally not asked for) was SO VERY GOOD i had to forgive the first bad plate. and after this review i'm trying to reschedule my whole trip (which is work related and thus difficult to reschedule) just so i can do the chef's table! thanks for a fantastic review--and GREAT pics! :thumbsup2

I did this on my October trip. Keep meaning to write a review. It was the best meal of the trip. I crave the lobster Mac and cheese and braised lamb we had. The interaction with the staff was excellent and sincere. The wine pairings were generous and perfect I would do it again in an instant

thank you so much for your review and post! I'm going solo in about a week and a half and planned this dinner as I think it will be a great way to get some conversation, but also an amazing meal on my own vs. just getting a steak at a two person table somewhere where the chef may or may not have any time for me.

Bumping this up as I just reserved for last week of March and was hoping to obtain additional more recent reviews from others! Thanks!
