Flying Fish Cafe reviews

Has anyone eaten at Flying Fish Cafe lately? How is the food?

We did not eat there on our most recent trip a few weeks ago but we ate there twice last year. Flying Fish is our favorite WDW restaurants that's on the dining plan. Last time there, my husband had the tuna appetizer and the snapper entree. I had the cheese plate appetizer and the scallops entree. All 4 were excellent dishes. My husband also had the wine flight.

We'll be dining there again on our next adult only trip for sure!

Have eaten at Flying Fish almost each tome while at WDW - never ever a complaint. Note that have one of the tastiest steaks on property LOL. They also have a pretty good wine list! :thumbsup2

We did in October, loved it! Tons of pics and full review in my Oct link

We had a date night there in late September and we were disappointed in the food. It wasn't terrible, but merely "ok". DH had their signature snapper and it was the clear winner. I had a special and didn't like it at all. Our desserts were ho hum. We both liked the cheese platter. Our impression may have been tainted, however, by an obvious pipe problem they were having that night - the restaurant, especially the waiting area, smelled like sewage.

We've eaten at all the signatures except Artist Point and it dwells toward the bottom based purely on food. We'll eat there again but won't rush back.

This is a must do each time we go (DS 8 has expensive taste and throws a fit if we think about skipping it). We love it. Excellent food and service. Love the scallops and DH loves the Crab Cakes. The last time we went I was recovering from a GI bug and they made me a grilled chicken breast with rosemary potatoes...wow, that was the best chicken ever.

Great desserts for the kids, too.

You will love it!

Just the concept of this is pretty amusing!!!!!:rotfl:

When I ask him on his birthday, where he would like to go for dinner (I am thinking Mc D's) he states Flying Fish. We live in PA.

I'm thinking we may have spoiled him a bit  ;)

To the OP, I totally understand. We are planning a trip end of May and will be doing the DDP. However I am concerned my daughter is not going to be happy. Don't get me wrong she loves kid food at times but her palate is quite fancy and the options on children menus are very basic. I know she is going to be eating off of our plates some.

No, read your post again...you said DH 8 :rotfl2:

I haven't eaten there yet, but I've heard nothing but great things about it. I have an ADR there for 3/2.

We eat there every trip and it is one of our favorites !!! We have never had a bad meal at Flying Fish. You will love it. !!!

I have eaten at FF numerous times throughout the years. The food is very good... nothing spectacular though. For the price I was expecting something more. The food at California Grill is much better, more inventive and less money.

Ate there in December & loved it! If it's just 2 or 3 of you, request a seat at the chef's bar - you sit at a gorgeous granite bar that overlooks the kitchen. The chefs will interact with you as they cook. Here are the mussels & scallops...

Alright...I am officially starving!!!

We ate there in October, & were disappointed. We've eaten there a few times & that visit was the only bad experience we've had. The service & food were both off that night. We don't base our opinion of a restaurant on the service we recieve. This time was no exception. The food was subpar. FWIW, Hollywood Brown Derby was our best meal that trip, followed by Les Chefs de France. FF would be ranked 3rd. We'll return at some point, but not on our next few trips.

Flying Fish is our number one restaurant...never had a bad meal. Always excellent! Go and enjoy! Scallops and crab cakes are my favorite...hubby loves the steak (sauce on the side). Great wine list, wonderful desserts!
