On our upcoming trip to WDW, we are on the Disney Dining Plan, and would like to have one seafood meal. Wondering if Flying Fish Cafe (Broadwalk) is a good choice? Anyone has been there?

We ate there with my parents. My dad, who has traveled all over the US, said his steak had to be in his all-time top 5 steaks. But you want seafood, so I can tell you my mom had the potato-wrapped snapper (I think) and it was really really good too. And so was the creme brulee!

Flying Fish is is definitely the best seafood restaurant at WDW. I believe a couple of years back it was voted best seafood restaurant in Florida.

Thanks Rock'n Robin. Were you on Dining Plan? Do you think it is worthwhile to deduct two Table-Service Meal, or simply pay cash out of our pocket?

We have a party of 4 adults + 1 toddler (2-year-old). I heard dress code is business causal, but I hope a shirt + jeans + sneakers would be OK?

It is our one special night out! The food is great and it's very relaxing. The potato wrapped snapper and leeks are my favorite. We don't have the Dining Plan but it's worth the cost.

Flying Fish may be the BEST restaurant period at WDW.

I too am a steak afficianado (just finished cutting my whole NY Strip from Niman Ranch) and I too rate the Charred NY Strip at FF high, it's in my top 3 all time along with Ruth's Chris (anywhere I've had it) and Shula's (Miami not Orlando).

The food is excellent and the wait staff are knowledgable and friendly - we went there with our 2 and 3 yo and they really enjoyed the fish on the kids menu too

I do need to add that I personally seldom order the Steak at FF...My daughter always gets it, meaning I'll get at least 25% anyway, which allows me to order whatever seafood is accomanied by the risotto du jour ... Absolutely SPECTACULAR!!!

We were not on the dining plan. You could go to Deb's site (allears.net) and check out the menu, figure out your prices, and decide whether to save up 2 TS or not. I would not wear tshirts, but I think "resort casual" (capris, polo shirts) would be fine.

I love FF. The potato-wrapped snapper is great, and I also liked the appetizer I had. I can't remember what it was, but it had hearts of palm in it. Our server was great too.

On our recent trip in December I had the best steak of my life at FF and this is after not being impressed with a fish entree a few years back. Now, FF is a MUST.

The question here is fish vs. seafood. The times I was at The Fish, there was little in the way of seafood (shellfish) on the menu but more of a fish/meat split. The menu does change with the seasons but Fultons (God help me) has more in the way of crab, lobster and scallops if that is what you are after.

I personally LOVE FF!! It is a must do for me every trip... Now.. granted I am allergic to fish.. so only have the steak there.. but ALL of my friends are HUGE Seafood lovers.. and always get the seafood.. there has NEVER been a dish they haven't loved.. You cannot go wrong with FF...

Enjoy!!

Kathy

FF always has scallops on the menu but rarely has lobster or shrimp if that's a factor.

Last October we ate at the FF and also the Yachtsman-FF was fantastic (didn't like the Yachtsman)! Food, service, everything was wonderful.
