Flyglobespan comments

Can,t agree with many of the comments on that site!Have used Globespan on numerous occasions Prague,Majorca,Benidorm and Orlando and every flight has always been on time, always spotless and the flight crew are some of the hardest working I have came across.Yes! sometimes problems occur but is it not the same with every Airline and some of them bigger companies than Globespan.

Obi, I have to say that I think it is quite unfair that you are so quick to defend Virgin as soon as anything that even resembles a negative comment appears on here. But you are not averse to posting things like this that criticise other airlines.

Double standards :sad2:

I have never used Globespan but I have considered them as they are so cheap and I have spoken to people who have good experiences with them. What I can also say is that I have had negative experiences with Virgin before, having flown with them 3 times now (negative experiences 2 out of those 3). I am not intending to start a discussion about who is better but I just wish that people could stop slating any airline that isn't Virgin and that you would either stop defending Virgin to the hilt and accept that EVERY airline has its faults or allow others to have and voice their opinions, without feeling the need to slate every airline that isn't Virgin.

I, for one, am getting a bit fed up of it all.

I actually thought it was quite a useful link: not only are there reviews of Globespan, but also reviews of Virgin (http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/vir_atl.htm) and BA (http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/brit_awys.htm). There are also reviews of other airlines that people have asked about recently (i.e. BMI, Delta & USAirways). The website also has interesting information on different airline seat pitches - http://www.airlinequality.com/Product/seat_intro.htm

The comments on airlinequality are posted by different inidividuals and will be subjective (since we all have our own preconceptions and expectations etc): so than can act as a "trend spotting guide", but can't always be taken literally. Still, I find that airline reviews can be very useful (much like hotel reviews on tripadvisor.com or trip reports on this website :thumbsup2 )

Thanks for the link to the interesting site Obi, I will remember to go back there again.

Like most sites like this people mostly tend to post after problems, not when they have a good experience, so makes airlines look worse than they are. Look at the Virgin reviews plenty and 1 and 2 star complaining reviews on there.
I have never used FlyGSpan but lots of times on Virgin, I would say their service and quality of planes from Manchester is at rock bottom and majority use them because there is little other option. I can't wait for a serious competitor to start a decent service.

It does seem that FGS have their problems, especially when it comes to long-haul flights. I really do hope they sort out that side soon, because Scotland is crying out for a good, regular service to Orlando.

I have flown with them before, to Barcelona in February this year, and have to say that I was fairly impressed with them. The only problems we had was on arrival being took to the wrong arrivals hall (by the bus driver, so not FGS's fault), and the staff at check-in on departure were slower than a week in the jail. I will be returning to Barcelona sometime soon though as I have a friend who lives there, and will definitely use Flyglobespan for that flight.

Long haul, im not so sure. I would rather wait til they have established the route a bit better and ironed out any problems (if they ever do).

Thanks for the link, Obi :thumbsup2

Yes, Virgin has its faults - but Globespan seem to be on an entirely different level.

i agree, people are quick to moan and slow to praise. I book hundreds of flights a year with globespan (being that they fly from exeter, an hour up the road, to Toronto) and get very few people complaining. Once you accept the fact that they are a low cost carrier then its fine. they don't claim to be, nor ever will be singapore airlines quality

Great point. Bottom line for us is that our Globespan flights worked out £1200 cheaper than if we went on the same BA flights as last time (which weren't particularly great anyway). And we get a direct 8.5 hr flight as opposed to a 13-14 hr flight via Gatwick. So I'm happy to put up with the odd flight delay especially when you take in to account that ALL airlines have problems at times.

The good news is that there are not many commants about the Sanford route and quite a few of them are positive

For those who try to defend this company, why not have a look at a few of the piolots forums, they think they are terrible to work for, many freelance piolots wont go near them.

There is an old saying :- You get what you pay for, maybe in this case its often true.
