Fly New Dumbo Fly!!!!

Wondering if they will open the 1 before both are ready. Seems like this one is almost done and Dumbo is such an important ride for Disney. Every video we watch the Dumbo ride is in it and DS was so excited to ride it. We are going jan 21-29 and I really hope they have a soft opening when we are there.

We'll be there the first week of Feb - I'm hoping for the same! It would be a nice way to make up for both Fantasmic/MSEP not being performed

Same with us!!! We certainly aren't expecting it, but it would be an incredibly pleasant surprise!!

Not trying to put a damper on it, but half the fun of the original Dumbo were the great views of Fantacyland as you went around. I'm still concerned about the new, which will be mostly surrounded by a tent and the views will be somewhat limited. Yes the newness will wear off, like they did with the Aladdin Magic Carpet ride. The views are also limited which makes it not much more than just a county fair ride, which is why it's a skip for us. However, Dumbo will always be for the kids 1-99, which is why we'll more than likely always ride it.

We are taking my 3 y/o GS to WDW for his very first trip and are hoping for soft openings of Dumbo. We were so bummed when we found out it was going to be closed during his trip. I hadn't even heard Fantasmic and MSEP weren't being performed that week either.

There is supposed to be more Dumbo's and it goes in the opposite direction. What exactly where you expecting.

The biggest difference is the topper with the storks instead of Timothy, and some of the colors are different. The new one has the same number of Dumbos as the old one, even though some of the early concept art showed otherwise.

This is when the old one will shut down, but it probably won't go into place next to the new one immediatly. It will probably go back stage for re-furb and re-painting before moved into place next to the new one.
