Which would you rather receive from your DH (or SO) ?

I have in the past received a dozen red roses from dh but he usually gives me 1 red rose or if he sends me a mixed bouquet, he always has them include 1 red rose as an "I Love You" symbol.
That one red rose means just as much to me as a dozen.

So, what do you think?

It doesn't matter, it's how he gives it to you. But one flower is more intimate than a dozen.

I would just love to get flowers!! He is very allergic and I can't even have them for one night with out him feeling lousy, meds and all.

palmtreegirl,

I love the smell of carnations...plus they last a long time too.

I'd prefer the single red rose. Just being sent flowers is more than enough to show he was thinking of me. He doesn't have to spend a fortune to send 12 of them.

I'd prefer a peach or a yellow rose. Or a bouquet, but I'll take what I can get.:p One of the biggest loves of my life (my 7 yo ds) gives me red roses a lot.:) Or weeds.:) He seems to think I need flowers or flowery type stuff a lot.:)

I personally think it doesn't matter. Any little gift from your husband or SO means the world.

I prefer the bouquet (as long as there are NO lillies!!! I'm allergic to those!)

Funny story about the single rose!!!

When we had our daughter, my husband stopped by to pick up a bunch of balloons and a single rose for me. Well, at the time we were living in the Bay Area of CA, and it gets quite windy. On his way in to the hospital, he had to walk through a breezeway, which picked the wind and tossed it about...well, it did the same to the balloons. So, as he is fighting with the balloons, they are beating him in the head. The balloons break the very tip off the rose, so all that is left is the stem.

Finally, he gets to my room and walks in the door. All I can see is this knotted mess of balloon strings (a few balloons popped along the way, too!) in one hand, and a roseless stem in the other!! I laughed so hard, I woke the baby!

Needless to say, I've never gotten another single-stem rose!!!

I love mixed bouquets with a variety of flowers. The only thing DH usually requests are no carnations, he knows I'm not a fan.

I'll take a dozen, in the colors of pink, white, red, yellow, and lavender! Yep, I'm not too hard to please! ;)

My husband will often bring me daisies with a single yellow rose, similar to our wedding flowers. He's such a sweetheart.

I love when my boyfriend gets me flowers, it doesn't really matter what kind or how many! But I guess I would have to say that I would prefer 1 single rose to a dozen.

For me its not a matter of what, but a matter of when.
If he gets me any for Valentines Day, My birthday, or other events I get mad. I dont want him doing something he thinks is nice because the calendar says so.
I want flowers because of his own reasons, something he thinks I deserve them for. The flowers tha meant the most to me were the ones he thought to send to me on my last day of work.

But overall I do think flowers are a big waste of money and would prefer he not send me any ever. ;)
