Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Yikes about that man!! :scared1: We had a ground floor room at POR last summer and DBF whipped off his shirt to change into another and I RAN to the window to close the shades!! Not nearly as scandalous as what you saw!
I cannot STAND chatty cab drivers-- I flew to Texas last summer and had a driver come at 5:15. I was half awake and he talked at me the ENTIRE hour and a half ride to the airport. At 5:15!!! I don't mind conversing with people when I'm in the mood, but at that hour and if I am clearly not speaking BACK to him, you'd think he would get the hint!
GORGEOUS pictures!! The lighting is incredible!

You got some amazing shots at AKL and your resort. Looks very pretty!
That naked guy story had me cracking up!:rotfl: I bet he wanted to be spotted...after all, aren't there "exotic" animals at AKL??

The Captain would be proud that ye lived up to your wenchiness by spotting a naked guy in his hotel room!!! :lmao:

Glad you enjoyed Jiko- love that filet and mac n cheese too!!!!!

No comment on the CS meal :sad2:

More! More! popcorn::

Ha! If my inner wench had truly been showing, I would have whipped out my camera and documented the occassion!

Jiko was yummy!

Peeping-Thomasina.jpg

:lmao: Well, since he was just standing there in all his glory waiting for someone to look at him, I don't think I can be classified as a peeping Tom.....

WOW...that is just  In the nude in front of the window where hundreds of people probably walk by LOL!!! Oh well like you said at least the view wasn't bad, it could have been worse LOL! :rotfl:

Zebra Domes, do you know I have every intention of getting those everytime I go and somehow I always forget LOL!! They are so beloved on the DIS I really want to try them!

Once again your pictures of CSR are just stunning!! Especially of the pool at night I love that picture!!

Oh, it so could have been worse! Not sure what the guys was thinking though - he had to know his room faced a heavy traffic area :confused3

I've only had Zebra Domes once and I remember them being really good - this was the first time that I had been to AKL since then and I was determined to get them, I can't believe I forgot :headache:

Thanks on the pictures, CSR is pretty easy to photograph - such a pretty resort!

Omg re the naked guy!!! There are signs all over the sliding doors that tell you there are cameras because of the animals!! I am thinking someone else may have gotten a look see too! Hahahaha Ohhhh I am so sorry you didn't get any zd :(

Tracy

Oh how funny! I bet he gave someone monitoring those cameras quite a show

Great update. I love your pics around the AKL and your lobby pictures of the lobby area of the CSR are absolutely terrific.

Thanks Kathy!

:lmao::lmao:OH MY GOODNESS! I do not know what I would do if I saw that! Seems like you would pay extra attention to your curtains if you were on the first floor :rolleyes1

I bet that you slept so well that night!! I am excited to see what you and your mom did the next day popcorn::

I know! I close my curtains as soon as I enter the room, regardless of what floor I am on - I don't want anyone peering in at me

Thank you SoonerGirl.....your pictures are AMAZING!!!! If I could figure out how to do a pretrip summary I definitely would.....As you can see I am a computer illiterate.....embarrassing, I know, but one day I will be proficient....at least that was a 2010 New Years resolution of mine!!
Thanks for posting.....it is so much fun reading!! The hotel looks spectacular!!!

Thanks! Keep posting, you'll figure it all out :thumbsup2

Janny, did you say what your dates are for Beach Club?

Yes, Janny, Miss Anita Wigd is going to be at the BCV soon herself - maybe you guys can meet up and say hi!

Who knew your wildlife would include nekkid men! :lmao:

What a shame about the zebra domes! :( I guess you will have to plan another trip. ;)

Your night pictures of CSR are stunning!

You never know what you are going to run into out on that savannah!

You know I'm always looking for an excuse to go back - a missed opportunity for zebra domes seems like a good enough reason to me!

Beautiful pictures of a fantastic resort!

There is always some kind of flamingo war going on when I am there. I always see a few of them screaming at each other and flopping those long necks around and slapping heads. Hard, too.

Coronado Springs is pretty, too. I have to get Jill back over there to walk around and take more pictures. We had breakfast out at a table by the water one time, and it was a very pretty setting. I've been over there for photo walks a few times, but I still haven't explored the entire resort.

A do-over is in order to capture some zebra domes. :)

He-Who-Needs-No-Clothes probably didn't think a thing about people being able to see in the window. Guys don't think, sometimes. Guys don't think a lot of times. I do hope no little kids wandered by at that time and got traumatized. Maybe first floor rooms need to come with higher windows, just for the protection of all the guests.

We saw some flamingos beating up on each other too - they must have a very short tolerance of each other :thumbsup2

Those little tables by the lake at CSR are a great place to enjoy your breakfast - very calm and relaxing out there!

The one thing that concerned me about the naked guy was the fact that there are so many children around the pool - not the view they need at all :sad2:

Well, I think....oh wait, I guess I don't. :confused3

Maybe I should say some guys don't think a lot of the time.
Possibly many guys.
Not you, though.
You think.
You are a true thinker. :thumbsup2

Thank you, I think.

Shocker - the great thinker......

:lmao: Sorry - I couldn't resist!

Who knew a naked guy would cause such hilarity! :rotfl: Little did he know he'd be getting so much attention!!! :rotfl2:
Wonderful pictures of the resorts! I'm glad you had a nice dinner... you and your mom looked so pretty in the "mirror" picture.
Oh, I've been meaning to ask you, where did you get your D&B mickey purse again?

I got my black D&B at World of Disney. When I was there in December that was one of the few places that carried them, this time I saw them all over the place!

You and your mom had a wonderful end to your first night, minus the nekkid dude and annoying cab driver. How bizarre!!! I have never tried Jiko but it sure looks delicious. :) I hope your next day gets off to a better start.

The nekkid dude was pretty funny actually - I just hope no little ones saw him! The cab driver on the other hand.....uggggg, she was irritating!

I pretty much keep my curtains drawn the entire time I'm in the room, it's just too creepy to think about someone walking by and being able to see into the room.

Oh gosh, it would have been nice to just catch a few more winks that early in the morning! I'm sure you felt like telling him to just 'shut up already!'

Thanks on the pictures, I was pretty happy with how they came out.

You got some amazing shots at AKL and your resort. Looks very pretty!

He must have thought he was on display too! If he was trying to be exotic though, he was missing a few dance moves..........

Quick little totally off topic update here - I mentioned before that Justin had baseball tryouts for the high school summer team last night. Well, we found out tonight that he made the team (it's a good thing too, because I was so certain that he would, I went out and bought his pants today AND took them to the seamstress to be hemmed  ). Anyway, he was pretty excited about that. We also got a call today from the head basketball coach at the high school and he wants Justin to come play up with the Jr Varsity in their summer league. Yikes! I downloaded both schedules and it looks like he'll be able to pull off playing both sports at once. Basketball is two games back to back on Monday nights for 4 weeks, and he doesn't have any baseball games that would interfere (not sure about practices yet). He is going to be one busy beaver - I was exhausted just looking at his calendar for the next month and a half!

He's excited though, so I'm happy for him!

Very exciting for Justin! He is going to be worn out and you will be too! It's not always easy to keep up with those schedules even if you are just the spectator!

Oh and a comment on the neked guy...
He must have been proud of himself.;)
I just freak if our drapes are open, and it doesn't matter what floor we are on. I don't want anyone looking at me!
Really I don't think they would want to but, in any case I still want the drapes closed!

Shocker - the great thinker......

:lmao: Sorry - I couldn't resist!

Oooooh, you're in trouble now!!!

I'll be wishing you the best on all of that. There was a time when Trent was leaving soccer practice at school and dressing in the back seat of the car on the way to AAU basketball. (I would drive him so he could change and eat.) He was guzzling down Gatorade and bananas and doing homework as he was changing clothes. It was too much. He had to make a choice between the two, so he let AAU go, because he still had plenty of basketball going at school during the regular season and summer leagues. The football coaches wanted him playing football, too, but he stuck with soccer and basketball all through high school. You can manage two sports, but he was very happy to cheer on his friends and be a spectator during football season.

Justin will have a lot of fun with high school sports, and it will provide good time and great memories for all of you. We had a blast with it, even if it was very wearing on Trent sometimes.

subbing in and all caught up.

Must say - I'm disappointed that there are no pics of the naked guy :rotfl2:; but I know we're on a Disney Channel.

Did someone say Naked guy? Seriously, that is just wrong. I guess he was tad of an exhibitionist. Sheesh!

Boo to the taxi driver who talked incessantly about her diet. Who wants to hear that while they are on vacation, especially after eating a big meal? :sad2: I ate dinner at Saana one night and I wish I had gotten some zebra domes too, but I was too tired and stuffed to go over there.

Did you see the baby gorilla? I have to tell you that my number one favorite photo from my entire trip is of the baby gorilla.

Congrats on Justin making the baseball AND basketball teams!!! :cheer2:

YIKES on the naked guy!!!! :scared1: How did you get that picture out of your head?! Yuck!

That is HILARIOUS about the naked guy. And a little disturbing. Doesn't he know Disney is a family place? :confused3:lmao::rotfl:

Yay to Justin!:cheer2:

Trust me, I know! I've still got another kid who has baseball practice twice a week and games most weekends as well. Wish us luck!

Really I don't think they would want to but, in any case I still want the drapes closed!

I'm the same way about the drapes - I close them as soon as I walk in the room. It's just too weird to think about people being able to walk by and see into your room!

Oooooh, you're in trouble now!!!

I know - I just couldn't resist.......

Sorry Shocker :flower3:

Thankfully school is out here in just 3 days, so he won't have school work on top of all the sports. I think two sports will be plenty for him in high school. He played football when he was very young (6 & 7), then he developed Perthes disease (effects the hips) and was out of sports for about a year and a half. His ortho gradually allowed him back into athletics but asked us to hold off on football. He might let him play now if we asked, but I'd rather he didn't anyway so we won't ask :thumbsup2

I'll be keeping a close eye on him, and if it's just too much, we won't play basketball this summer. I am really looking forward to HS sports, I'm hoping we loose some of the drama involved with youth league athletics!

subbing in and all caught up.

Must say - I'm disappointed that there are no pics of the naked guy :rotfl2:; but I know we're on a Disney Channel.

Hey there, glad you're here! :thumbsup2

I think I was too stunned to even think about getting a photograph!

Onboard and all caught up! :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard Denise! Glad to have you :goodvibes

Congrats to Justin! That's awesome!

Thanks Jackie!

No kidding on the taxi driver! We had just eaten a big yummy meal too and certainly didn't want anyone ruining it for us - I'll worry about what I eat when I'm at home, on vacation I don't want to be reminded of it!

I can't wait to see your pic of the baby gorilla! You'll just have to wait and see if we were able to spot her/him (is it a boy or a girl???)

Congrats to Justin!! At least it is summer so he won't have work to do too!

Exactly! It will help that he doesn't have any school work to concentrate on.

Congrats on Justin making the baseball AND basketball teams!!! :cheer2:

YIKES on the naked guy!!!! :scared1: How did you get that picture out of your head?! Yuck!

Thanks Becky, Justin is pretty pumped about it!

It was just so bizzare to see that guy standing there like he was in his own private little world!

WAY TO GO, JUSTIN!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks Kathy, I'm sure you remember these days with your boys - we're going to be busy, busy!

That is HILARIOUS about the naked guy. And a little disturbing. Doesn't he know Disney is a family place? :confused3:lmao::rotfl:

Yay to Justin!:cheer2:

Isn't that odd! It's not like he couldn't look out his window and see all the people walking around, surely he's smart enough to realize that they can see in just as easily as he can see out..... :confused3
