Wow the DIS is really crawling tonight

Welcome back Christine !

Thanks, Anita. Your cake on the planning thread sure looked delicious--but is there a typo?! ;) If I had not had so many desserts while on the DP, I would have a slice tonight. Instead I am having cottage cheese and pineapple.

That was not my cake :rotfl: if it was mine, it would have been carrot cake !!

What was the best part of your trip ?? i'm jealous you got to go for so long !!

Hopefully not any dirty clothes :rolleyes1

:rotfl:

No, the laundry is already in progress. By the end of the trip my son's clothes were so mixed up--dirty and clean that when we came home we just shoved the laundry bag into his duffle bag and I figured I would wash everything in the duffle bag when I got home. :laundy: I did manage to do a few loads mid trip while at my mom's husband's house, then I did a load in the wee small hours of the morning on Saturday at the hotel. I felt compelled to do laundry since our room was directly across the hall from the guest laundry.

I never minded doing some laundry on vacation, it makes it easier when you get home

I always end up washing all the clothes my kids bring with for the same reason, they can't seem to keep them seperate

Oooh...I love carrot cake too. One of my co-workers really makes a good one.

There were so many best parts of the trip it is difficult to say. For the first week there were 11 of us at WDW and everything went sooo smoothly it was unbelievable. Everyone got along really well, and even though we did not tour the parks together, it was fun to be in a different "sub-group" each day to tour one of the parks.

Despite changing hotels at the last minute, we really liked being on the monorail. I never would have considered the GF before, and I am glad I got the chance to stay there. The girls decided that being displaced from AKL just gives us an excuse to return when the construction is done. The guys still are considering this a one in a lifetime trip! :rotfl:
The meals we had together were all great--well, except the first one at Coral Reef. The food was awesome, don't get me wrong. The 2 two years olds...not so much.

After that meal time was much better. We all had a ball at Chef Mickeys and the Ohana character breakfast. Six of us went to Ohana for dinner the night we arrived and that was fun too. I think the highlight was the Safari Celebration Dinner. Despite that being the one day we all really felt the heat, the safari was nice and the dinner party was a lot of fun and a lot of good food. We even had a whole chocolate cake for our table.

We canceled our Hoop de Doo reservation because we thought it would make for too much of a hectic day. Instead we rented a cabana at the pool for half a day (3-7 PM) and had a pool party. That was a lot of fun too.

Another high light was the Gospel Brunch at House of Blues. I went to that with my husband and son the morning after the rest of our group left. The music was great and we all had a good time. The food was pretty good too.

Universal was nice. A lot more relaxed. Since we stayed on sight, we did not worry about when we got to the parks, or crowds or anything. The downside was that my husband was sick for that portion of the trip and my son is not so much into the parks--his thing is hanging at the pool and playing ping pong and such. So, I did a lot of stuff on my own. I am glad my husband and I will be returning there late October for our anniversary before I meet up with the ladies trip.

Oh, and my husband said the most bizarre thing while we were walking to our gate at the Orlando airport yesterday. HE asked me if I had to make an "emergency trip" back to Orlando for a weekend, would I take the same stuff? I said, no, I would not take as much stuff. He then told me to pack a bag with enough stuff for 3 days and just leave it packed. He reiterated a similar statement a little while ago when I was unpacking one of the bags.

We went to the park and it was hot!

Disney has alot of airconditioned places to get a break.
Hershey was all up hill in the sun.

The girls went on thev ride you said last night.
I went on the big wooden coaster.

Hi Kendra I'm at Hershey now. Going home tomorrow.

How was your trip. :yay:

It was great, too short of course!

I would like to go to Hershey park! I went once when I was a little kid but they have some cool looking rides now! Is it as hot up there as it is here?

Wow you guys did some different things, how cool !!! I have never heard of the Gospel Brunch or the safari celebration (until you brought it up before)
sounds like a great trip !!!

I LOVE US/IOA and the slow pace also, what a nice break after DIsney :woohoo:

Your DH must be planning a surprise for you, how sweet !!!! :yay:

Hi Joanne. Yes, we had a ball. I did not know you are away. I have been meaning to get back to Hershey. We went there many summers when I was a kid (I remember when you could tour the actual factory). We often stay in a Hershey area hotel when we drive to/from New York. We have made it as far as the free faux tour and the 3D show, but have not yet made it back to the park.

How are you finding it? How long are you guys staying, and what types of things are you doing? I would love to do that new coaster--I think it is named after a horse...or has something to do with a horse???

They said it was really good. The double track coaster had no lines so they went on 3 or 4 times in a row.

That is so not him. And we are going back in October and I swear, I did tell him about the ladies trip. That is what has me so  . And, he keeps saying that with our son getting into the high school he wanted to go to that we won't be taking any more trips until we are done with tuition.
