Sat I took Adam and a friend to the movies, we saw Underdog. It was just ok for me. They liked it but I would have rather seen something else.

Yesterday he had a little pool party and I had kids at my house from noon to 6 last night. They were only suppose to be there until 2, but they were having fun so I let them stay.

Officially? You mean he started school already??

Adam goes into 7th grade this year as well. It's nuts! I cannot believe I am the parent of a 7th grader. I can still remember his first day of Kindergarten and what a big deal that was.

Wait til you have a kid in college---the second year no less. I dont feel to young saying I have a 20 yr old It really odd when I think when I was his age I was married and in no way can I see him being a parent in 2 years at 22 but thats how old I was when I had him. It didnt seem so young at the time

Yep school started today They got out on June 1st, but I still feel like they got cheated

We normally go back on the 10th or so--which I like. Now thanks to our friendly neighborhoold tourism board we wont be going back til the 27th--which I dont like. Now Matthew instead of grad in May before Memorial day Matthew wont graduate til june 6

Wow, that's early. I just found out that school here for the kids starts on the 27th same as with you guys Deena.

Huh, that's an interesting thought. I was 21 when I married (almost 22) and had Adam when I was 23. I wonder what my kids will be doing at that age.

Hopefully none of my girls end up like Lindsey Lohan or Britney or any of those crazies.

We are in the house now. A week today. We had to go buy a fridge, micro, and washer\dryer so we have those plus what we brought with us and his mom brought us some stuff like blenkets, air beds, towels, etc.

Other then that all our stuff is in MI still. It will be picked up this Wed and then will take between 5-9 days to arrive. So it's a little like camping out right now. lol

At least we were able to get the laptop Ruben got from his old job up and running which is how I'm online now.

Speaking of Ruben and work, he has his first day of orientation today. From 8-12. I hope it goes well.

Then when he comes home we are off to the stores to get more stuff for the house. More money to spend.

The twins are watching Happily Never After on the portable DVD player.

I can only hear bits and pieces but it sounds funny.

One scene the fairy godmother says something like "Have a good time at the ball Salmonella."

And she says "Uh no, it's Cinderella."

It's a silly movie but it has me cracking up. Reminds me of Shrek in a way. Then again I didn't sleep well last night so maybe I'm just losing it.

I don't know how you mothers deal with the kids getting older. I'm freaking out about nieces & nephews getting old!

Yeah it does seem like you guys got cheated a couple of weeks. Now where do I register my kids so they can be back in school already?

No kidding. lol It's too hot outside during the day to do much, we have no tv, no games either board or video, no toys, etc. so they are resorting to fighting as a form of entertainment lately and it's making me nuts!!!

You know I thought I would never want any of my kids to leave the house and not that Im in a huge hurry but I am looking forward to Michael being out on his own and getting to experience new things as an adult. He just doesnt know yet how much fun he will have having his own place, doing his own thing.
While its sad to see your kids not need you anymore 24/7 its also kind of neat watching them move into the next phase.


I remember I had a lot of fun moving out of my moms and being in charge of all my decisions no matter how large or small they were. Not that they were always the right ones But still they were all mine.

Beth sorry you have to wait on your furniture and stuff, but camping out kinda sounds fun. And you'll just appreciate your stuff more when it gets there.

We saw a preview for the new Disney movie called Enchanted and it looks hillarious. It's where the cartoon Princess falls down a hole and come out in the middle of modern day NYC and she's a real person. The Prince and witch all end up there too. It has McDreamy in it too!

Ruben and I didn't move until we got married but I still remember those first few days on our own. Heck even going grocery shopping was fun!

And about a week or so after the wedding and after all my relatives had flown back to MI we took our honeymoon. We only went to Lake Tahoe. Nothing exotic, but it was the first trip we did all on our own.

No help or planning from his parents or mine, we made the plane reservations, and rented the car, etc. It was really cool.
