Flowers and Firsts - A May 2010 PTR, 5/13 TR started! Link on pg 39

Michelle, I love how you are putting pictures with your plans! It makes it all so much more exciting! I can't remember if you have planned the high tea at the GF??? That is a fun thing to do, especially for just you and your mom. :) Good deal getting the Wishes dessert party! You are giving your mom the royal treatment! :goodvibes

Your Magic Kingdom day looks devine! :) You have so many fun things planned. And ending it with Wishes? Perfect idea Michelle!!!

Love Day 4 plans. We, being my goofy DH and I, do all the Fantasyland rides--I love Pooh and he loves Dumbo. I'm with you...don't like being singled out and we really didn't care for Laugh Comedy anyway.

I've never had that Anchors Aweigh sandwich--looks tasty.

There is not much like that first trip down Main Street :goodvibes The smells....the Castle in the distance :cloud9:
Everyone seems very keen on that tuna sandwich......I like tuna/chicken salad as long as it doesn't have anything crunchy in it....as in onions or celery :sad2:
I like COP too...and not just for a nap :rotfl2:

Tracy

Your day 4 sounds AWESOME :cloud9: I loved Columbia Harbour House!!! I think it is one of the best CS in Disney. How great that you booked the Wishes dessert party! Your Mom will love it. I am interested in hearing about Kona! The food always seems so good when I read about it. Just wondering...what is Mouse House Radio? And where can I hear it

I love your plans for the MK day----------everything except that Astro-Orbiter! The view is great, if I remember correctly, but it left me feeling yucky!

So glad you're going to get to ride IASW, since this is a "No guys" trip!

Great MK planning! I'm looking forward to the dessert party food pics. Man does chocolate sound good now!!!;)

great update! Loving all the pics! Yay for Wishes Dessert Party :banana:!! I will want to see pics of those yummy desserts okay?! Can't wait for the next update! Hopefully you make it to Sunday EMH at MK...we'll be there!! :thumbsup2

I'll do my best to get over feeling ridiculous taking pictures of food so that you all can see the dessert buffet!

I really want to make rope drop at Epcot on Monday morning, so I'm not sure if we'll make EMHs or not - we'll just have to see how we feel :thumbsup2

You'll need all that sugar from the cinnamon rolls to have the energy to accomplish all your plans at the Magic Kingdom. There is always so much to do there! :goodvibes

No kidding! My list is always so long for the MK! It will be a stretch to get all that done in one day, some of it may have to wait until later in the week.....

Mom is popping on every now and then and reading this PTR as well, so I think the pictures are helping her get a better idea of what to expect. They do add to the excitement!

No plans to do the tea, I'm really NOT a tea drinker, don't like it at all to be honest, although it does look really nice! I think our schedule is pretty full anyway, not sure when I'd squeeze it in.

Have to see Wishes!

I like the Fantasyland rides too, guess we are just big kids at heart!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one unsure of Monsters Laugh Floor :thumbsup2

I'm not a fan of celery or onions in my tuna salad either and I really liked my sandwich so there must not be any in there, if there was it was chopped awfully small :thumbsup2

I've never napped in COP, but I've seen people who do  I like to sing the song.....

I've been to Kona once before and loved it, I'm excited to go back!

Oh my gosh, I love Mouse House Radio - it's a great Disney fix! It is an internet station, you can find it on live365.com, they have several Disney related stations but Mouse House Radio is my favorite. Nothing like surfing the web listening to Disney theme park music! :cloud9:

Yeah, Astro Orbiter makes me feel a little off too. If we ride, I'll just take Bonine and hope for the best!

I don't get many opportunities to ride IASW anymore, so I'm jumping at this one.

Great MK planning! I'm looking forward to the dessert party food pics. Man does chocolate sound good now!!!;)

Yeah, I think I went to sleep last night dreaming about those chocolate covered strawberries

Thank you for mentioning this earlier Michelle. I've been listening all day! :goodvibes

Hey Great plans for you and your mom! What civilized touring!!!!! Sounds wonderful. I love the leisurely pace and while you have lots planned it seems totally enjoyable and doable. We have never been on the Liberty Belle either -- I hope to ride that this summer! :goodvibes

Gotta do Barnstormer! I want to do all of Toontown just because I don't know what's going and what's staying in terms of the Fantasyland expansion.

I listened to part of the new TTA narration and was thorougly upset that they had to go and ruin my all-time favorite ride!

I'm really hoping that those cinnamon almonds are there! I really want to try them too! Mmm, they look so yummy.

Michelle...I didn't know you started a PTR!!! Just found it tonite!:)

So many things to comments on. I am not sure I knew that this was your Mom's 1st ever trip to WDW....how fun to get to see her experience WDW for the 1st time!

And what is this about *you* being married to the Disney Grump?:confused3 I thought I was!

Laughing at your reminder to yourself to stick to Terminal B for ME...I wonder how many of us have gotten lost on our way to ME.:rotfl:

What a wonderful agenda for your 1st day...Dig pool with margaritta in hand. Can't beat that! Plus, as you say, no one yelling "Mom...Mom...Mom!":rotfl:
Capping it off with Jiko and exploring AKL - what a wonderful 1st day!

Great TR about TN. How fascinating about the MLK museum. I had no idea it was built around the actual Lorraine Motel. Those photos of the museum...with the old cars and the wreath on the balcony look so erie...like time has stood still. I hope to visit there one day and see the tour you mentioned.

Also very interesting about Graceland. Funny, I assumed the mansion would be much larger. I can't believe how they have preserved everything so well! And the exhibits with the cars and airplane must have been so interesting.

What is this about a "Lost on Safari" at the Dawa Bar? I have never heard of this...do tell!

And I will also confess to never indulging in a Grey Goose slushie. I as well will be rectifying that this trip.

As for the Norway Kringala Bakery, may I recommend that one of you get the School Bread and the other get the Cloudberry Horn? I did not care much for the School Bread (I know I am in a minority here), but the Cloudberry Horn is my absolute favourite snack in all of WDW. I plan on indulging in quite a few over our 11 days in the World!

BTW - we will also be at the MK on May 4th. Hopefully we will run into you once or twice. Then we won't be strangers at the Cinco de Mayo meet!;)

And I would totally do the Barnstormer if I were you. Who knows if it will be around once the renovations start.

Tom Sawer's Island and the Riverboat are also on our to-do list. The kids and DH have never done them before and I haven't been in years and years and years.

And I keep hearing about those cinammon almonds....I must check those out too!:goodvibes

Isn't it great?!

Civilized  Love that! Yes, that is exactly what we are doing, leaving the roudy uncivilized males at home and going on a ladies pace trip!

Gotta do Barnstormer! I want to do all of Toontown just because I don't know what's going and what's staying in terms of the Fantasyland expansion.

I'm pretty sure that the Barnstormer will be the only Toontown attraction remaining when they are finished, and it is being re-themed.

I listened to part of the new TTA narration and was thorougly upset that they had to go and ruin my all-time favorite ride!

Isn't it just awful, they went and took a fun quirky audio and made it booooorrrrrring :sad2:

I'm really hoping that those cinnamon almonds are there! I really want to try them too! Mmm, they look so yummy.

Well, since you'll be there before me you'll have to let me know if they still have them :thumbsup2

Michelle...I didn't know you started a PTR!!! Just found it tonite!:)

Hey Trish! Well, I wasn't planning on doing one, but I got talked into it. I'm glad I started it, it's been fun!

So many things to comments on. I am not sure I knew that this was your Mom's 1st ever trip to WDW....how fun to get to see her experience WDW for the 1st time!

Yep, her first trip ever! I hope she loves it even half as much as I do :lovestruc

And what is this about *you* being married to the Disney Grump?:confused3 I thought I was!

:lmao: They must be twins separated at birth or something!

Laughing at your reminder to yourself to stick to Terminal B for ME...I wonder how many of us have gotten lost on our way to ME.:rotfl:

I had never done that before, but we came in on the opposite side of the airport so I was totally turned around!

What a wonderful agenda for your 1st day...Dig pool with margaritta in hand. Can't beat that! Plus, as you say, no one yelling "Mom...Mom...Mom!":rotfl:

I totally agree! It was like we stepped around the corner into a time warp - it was erie!

Also very interesting about Graceland. Funny, I assumed the mansion would be much larger. I can't believe how they have preserved everything so well! And the exhibits with the cars and airplane must have been so interesting.

I was surprised at how small the house seemed as well, definitely not what I would consider a mansion these days.

What is this about a "Lost on Safari" at the Dawa Bar? I have never heard of this...do tell!

I do not know yet, but I will find out! It's a drink that Jackie (Charleston Princess) and Jennifer (Happydog) turned me on to - I can't wait to try it!

As for the Norway Kringala Bakery, may I recommend that one of you get the School Bread and the other get the Cloudberry Horn? I did not care much for the School Bread (I know I am in a minority here), but the Cloudberry Horn is my absolute favourite snack in all of WDW. Oooooo, thanks - putting it on my list!

BTW - we will also be at the MK on May 4th. Hopefully we will run into you once or twice. Then we won't be strangers at the Cinco de Mayo meet!;)

I'll be on the lookout for you! I'll have my giant giraffe print camera bag with a lime green Mickey head paint chip attached to it, if you see me say hi!

And I keep hearing about those cinammon almonds....I must check those out too!:goodvibes

The almonds were quite yummy!

"It's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day..." that song and ride! My kids and I walk around singing it all the time!!

Great plans for the MK.:goodvibes Those cinnamon rolls are heavenly!:cloud9:

Just wanted to pop in real quick and say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to my Lady Sooners who defeated Kentucky tonight and are headed to the Final Four!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hi all! Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. I had to make an unexpected trip to Minnesota, my Grandmother passed away. It was tough, but for the best. She's had severe Alzheimer's for many years, so the Grandma I knew has been gone already for quite some time. She was my last remaining grandparent, it's really sad to think that they are all gone now, what an amazing generation they came from. I miss them all terribly.

Anyway, so that's where I've been.......In the car......driving......forever......

My brother, mom & I left at 5am Wednesday morning, drove 13 1/2 hrs to my Dad's hometown. Went to the viewing and to dinner with the family. Thursday was the funeral, we left late Thursday afternoon and drove a couple of hours south to my Mom's hometown to visit her sisters, then got up at 4:30am yesterday and drove 11 1/2 hrs home. Now I have to get ready for Easter tomorrow - I'm beat!!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. They did come from an amazing generation!
Try to rest up as much as you can. I know you have lots to do.
If you have a chance though, you may want to stop over by my trip report. I have some news for you....
;)
