A friend gave me a bunch of recipes for play doughs that you can make at home for your kids to play with. So far, most of them have not come out to be a workable consistency. Today we decided to try the flower petal dough. We have a gazillion flowers growing in the yard, all different colors, and I knew we could make really pretty dough. My son had a blast picking flowers and yanking the petals out.
But let me just say; if you have hayfever and someone gives you this recipe to try, DON'T DO IT!!! Having fresh flowers in the house usually doesn't bother me a bit, but between the picking, plucking, and chopping of the flowers I have been sneezing violently for hours and I can't stop! It's awful!
If you don't have hayfever and you want to try it:
1/2 c flour
1 TBSP salt
3 TBSP water
3 c finely chopped flower petals
Mix first three ingredients, then knead in the flower petals. Wrap in plastic and chill for 20 minutes.
I had to add at least another 1/2 cup of flour before it would stop sticking to everything.
