Roses

Exquisite and radiant, the rose is the principal messenger of love.

Roses are truly ageless. Recently, archaeologists discovered the fossilized remains of wild roses over 40 million years old.

1,000 years old. That's the age the world's oldest living rose is thought to be. Today it continues to flourish on the wall of the Hildesheim Catherdral in Germany.

People have been passionate about roses since the beginning of time. In fact, it is said that the floors of Cleopatra's palace were carpeted with delicate rose petals, and that the wise and knowing Confucius had a 600 book library, specifically on how to care for roses.

Wherefore art thou rose? In the reading of Shakespeare, of course. He refers to roses more than 50 times throughout his writings.

Thank you Kim. I love love love roses so you picked the most perfect June flower. Thanks for the info on what each color means. I know some but not all.

So wonderful....:D

Thanks....:D

I just planted a rose bush in my yard this week. It has been in the family for over 60 years, by virtue of rooting. I can't wait to enjoy the blooms. They predate hybrids and have a true rose scent.

I love roses, but just don't have luck (or patience) to grow them. i really admire anyone who does.
