Ugh. We arrive on May 19th and were so looking forward to this. I wonder why they are ending it early this year?

Actually it has only been since 2015 that this festival lasted till the end of May. All previous years it would end around the 18th. I think it has alot to do with the weather and the heat that arrives by the end of May. Also the blooming times of all the flowers that are planted. By the end of May all the "spring" flowers are getting burnt up by the sun and heat. Just my observation and opinion.... but it totally makes sense.
In 2013 we arrived on May 18 and it ended the 19th. We had one day to enjoy it, then on the 20th everything was GONE! It was disappointing to see it go back to all green grass.
If there's a way to change your dates and arrive 2-3 days earlier it's worth it!

I guess Steve from wdwent isn't always correct. So happy it begins on Wednesday like in previous years! :thumbsup2 I can get off the plane and head straight to the festival! :flower1::rose::daisy:
Agree - Disney has been issuing incorrect info to Travel Agents so I guess they are no longer a source for info. Sad as Disney makes them look bad. :(

Weirdly, the Disney Food Blog and WDWInfo both reported the dates as lasting through May 28th. They do say that what they were given is different than what is on the WDW site. Here's hoping that the WDW site made a typo when they wrote May 18. o_O

I did tweet WDWToday, and they said the info on the official Disney site is correct.

These are the acts that played the festival in 2017,the only group that's a guarantee to be there is Starship as they're always there, the majority of this list have a history of playing the festivals. The exceptions would be Simple Plan and Berlin,Expose is listed as new but they've done Eat to the Beat a decent amount of times.Plain While ts are the newest darling of the festivals as they've been doing Eat to the Beat as well as Garden Rocks lately, the same can be said of Dennis Deyoung but he lost his voice for Eat to the Beat last year and couldn't sing,Tiffany subbed some of his dates and on the last day he went up on stage but his band mates did the singing, that may be the reason he came back for Garden Rocks .Here's last years list.

  • March 3-4 – Jon Secada – “Just Another Day”
  • March 5-6 – Dennis DeYoung – The Music of STYX – “Grand Illusion”
  • March 10-13 – Pointer Sisters – “I’m So Excited”
  • March 17-18 – Simple Plan – “Welcome to My Life” – NEW
  • March 19-20 – Plain White T’s – “Hey There Delilah”
  • March 24-27 – Night Ranger – “Sister Christian“
  • April 7-10 – Blood, Sweat & Tears featuring Bo Bice – “Spinning Wheel”
  • April 14-17 – Gin Blossoms – “Hey Jealousy”
  • April 21-24 – The Orchestra starring former members of ELO – “Evil Woman”
  • April 28-29 – Exposé – “Point of No Return” – NEW
  • April 30-May 1 – Berlin featuring Terri Nunn – “Take My Breath Away” – NEW
  • May 5-8 – STARSHIP starring Mickey Thomas – “We Built This City”
  • May 12-15 – The Guess Who – “American Woman”
  • May 19-22 – Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone – “I’m Henry VIII, I Am”
  • May 26-29 – The Spinners – “Working My Way Back To You”

Hopefully some of those will return. I'm taking my stepdad and mom to F&G and he'd really like some of these (I'd like almost all of them).

We will be there again in May for F&G. We went for the first time last year and LOVED it. My daughter had a blast (well, we all did) with the egg hunt. Here's my question (if you don't mind a hijack of the thread): Are the eggs in the same spots each year? Is the map with the stickers the same each year? If so, I might buy something different or make something for her to do like a scavenger hunt for Epcot so it's not the same thing. One year she did the passport thing so we'd like to try something different. Thanks!

I believe they do move the eggs around in the pavilions year-on-year. The map will therefore be different (I think they put different character eggs in different pavilions). The prizes are also different.

They place the eggs in different locations. However the last couple years the "prize" was the same.

The Disney Parks Blog had the above dates yesterday, as does Disney Food Blog and Touring Plans. I posted about this yesterday, and WDWFantasmicFan said they tweeted WDWToday, and were told that the dates of Feb 28-May 18 were right.

I don't know what to think at this point, and don't know how to find out for sure what the dates actually are.

At this point, either Disney Parks Blog is incorrect or Disney’s Flower and Garden’s Official site is incorrect. :(

Yes, I suppose so. I wish they would figure it out! I even PM'd Len Testa from Touring Plans to see if he knows of a way to get to the bottom of this.

wdwinfo Tweeted out the Feb 28 - May 28 dates. They only announce confirmed dates and would have the same info as Len.
