Flounders for an almost 3yo?

I've looked at the pictures and read the posts on Flounders and am wondering how out of place my DD will be. She's going to be 3 months shy of 3 when we cruise, so not eligible for the kids programs. She's completely potty trained (doesn't need adult assistance as long as there's a stepstool) and speaks better than most 4yos. She will not sleep in a crib.

We were hoping to use Flounders for one evening and possibly one afternoon. She will have a younger DS to keep her company - but it sounds like they'd be separated. Anyone know what it will be like for someone her age/maturity? Are there cots for her to sleep in if she gets tired?

I wish I could confirm the cots issue, but I don't know. My ds was 2 1/2 and to nosy and involved to consider sleeping. His usual bedtime is 7:30pm, but he was up every evening until 10pm and later! Plenty of great CMs to read to them and snuggle. Lots of toys, videos. I don't think your kids will be separated, unless your smaller one is sleeping. The room is a long narrow room, kind of sectioned into two areas by the changing station. My ds usually played in the front 1/2 where there were riding toys (rocking horses, sit and spins), so I never really checked out the back section where I believe the rocking chairs/cribs are. My ds (although not potty trained yet , is very verbal. He got along fine, I think.

I posted the "Potty trained 2 yr 8 mo old" question a month or so ago and didn't get a response.

I asked (and am putting it back out there for anyone who might know)

How do they handle children who are potty trained? Who helps them go to the bathroom? Is there a child-sized potty? Are there procedures for potty trained children?

I think my almost 3 yr old would not be ready for the kids clubs. She is totally into crafts but I just don't know if she would be into going around the ship and eating without us, etc. Maybe when she is over 3.

The nursery has lots of books and some toys. MY DD did a lot of reading and watched TV as the room was limited to books and movies and baby toys. (and this last one is certainly justifiable) But there was enough to keep her occupied.

They have those nap pads like most day cares, to put in front of the big tv. And there is a back, darker TV room where my DD vegged out in a rocking chair.

Your kids will not be separated. The room is big, with lots of open areas. If your younger one goes to sleep, they will put him in a crib, but the room is right there, and your older child should not feel separated.

And we found the FN staff to be completely attentive to DDs needs. She asked for us once, and they were seconds from paging us, when she got interested in something else. I appreciated the fact that they were willing to page us immediately. When we returned at the end of her time, they were very specific about what she did during her time there. They were kind and gentle to all the children we witnessed. I wouldn't hesitate to use FN again...at least till DD is 3
