Floridians protesting.............?

I heard a rumor that all the floridians are protesting to have only residents in Florida to be able to go to Disney World. It may only be a rumor and I doubt Disney would ban anyone NOT from florida, they'd lose to much money! This is a totally unfair protest or rumor. Have any of you heard this rumor?

Technically it isn't illegal since Disney is a private company. But Disney would never ever think about doing this anyway.

That's absolutely insane. It must be a rumor. Even if it's true, it'll never happen. Disney would lose sooo much if they closed Disney World to all but Florida residents.

No way -- this is most definently a rumor. The guys are Disney aren't complete idots: they KNOW they'd loose a majority of their profits from that. I wouldn't take it seriously..even if there were a group of people trying to do this, it'd never happen.

Well, Disney and the associated tourism industry is the main reason we do not have a state income tax (unfortunately, in my opinion - 2001-2003 were ROUGH for this state because tourism was down). While some people dislike the continued tourist development and don't like the autonomy Disney has, the vast majority of Floridians are, in my opinion, in favor of promoting tourism so that they can keep more of their hard-earned dollars.

Sorry, while this isn't a rumor it isn't really fact either. It's getting way too hot right now to stand outside holding a bunch of signs so we will temporarily put the protest on hold until October. See y'all in the fall!
