I have not taken much notice of the wildfires in the south of the USA.
I am shocked at the current situation in Florida!

Thanks for keeping us up-dated Obi, i didn't realise how bad it was.

I do hope there aren't any serious casualties. My thoughts are with our US friends:grouphug:

Stay Safe

Because of prevailing winds, the last few days have been smoke free in the WDW area.

That map is a little overdramatic. I think one of those red dots is my backyard BBQ!:scared1:

Thanks for the reassurance. I gather you are actually in the area so great to hear news from an insider

You have more chance of getting into problems on the M25 going down to Gatwick :goodvibes :goodvibes

Lot of water in and around Florida
LOL - and don't forget the Tornadoes in London, and earthquake in Kent recently - I'd definately rather be in Florida:cool2:

Just got back today, the last report on the news before i left said there were 3 fires burning and all appeared under control, last week the smoke made it a bit hazy around I drive area and the parks but not too bad, there was also a smokey smell in the air, the subtropical storm amde matters worse but it has now disapated

Nothing to worry about at the moment (apart from the unpleasant smell from the smoke from time to time). All the main fires are up in the north of Florida where the fire dept are struggling to gain control; there are a few very small-scale fires in central Florida, but none of them are at all serious right now. Florida is just very dry (as was the case in 1998) and these brush fires put up a LOT of smoke which drifts and lingers in the air for days. Mildly unpleasant (worse, if you suffer from asthma) but the real picture is nothing like it seems from the Sentinel's 'incident' map!!
