I hope it's okay to post this here as it's more about driving to Universal than WDW, but here goes.

We drive from Mississippi. The only toll road we use is the Turnpike. I know that it's cashless, and I see the pay by plate signs. We've been driving down for about a year now and have yet to receive any sort of bill, either electronically or in the mail. When we go to the toll road website and put in our license plate, nothing shows up. Is there something that I'm missing? My wife and I are concerned that we'll get hit with a massive bill at some point for unpaid tolls.

For reference, we used to live in Chicago and had an I-Pass. I had to use a rental car for about a week and used my I-Pass for the tolls but forgot to link the rental car to my account. Everything was fine until I got a pretty hefty ticket about a year later for using my I-Pass on an unauthorized car.

If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Do you have a vanity license plate? A friend of mine does, and he often goes to Houston, which has toll roads out the wazoo. For some reason, the cameras doesn't pick up it up and he's never gotten a bill.

About a year ago, we drove the FLA Turnpike, and the bill came about a month later, IIRC.

Our license plate is standard Mississippi. They changed the design about a year ago, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. Did your bill come in the mail or electronically?

Mail. We're from Louisiana, and IIRC, the Louisiana Office of Motor vehicles wouldn't have my email addy. I'll be that design change has something to do with it.

So, we drive down to Orlando area and other parts of FL and don't have a sunpass or EZ Pass for Central FL and use the pay by plate and have never gotten a bill. I'm not sure if I'm jinxing myself but they're clearly is an issue. I've searched by my plate and we've never had any bills. Most recently we used EZ Pass pay by plate lanes earlier this April coming in to Orlando from the beach and last used Sun Pass maybe about 2 years ago. I can't imagine that it's that slow of a process. We rented a vehicle in CO a few years back and were forwarded the bills by the rental company so I feel like they can find us but maybe FL isn't on the ball. Just an FYI, I think I read EZ pass or Sunpass, or maybe both, were doubling the tolls for pay by plate starting in July. Maybe they need the revenue to actually mail the bills. LOL

Saw this a few weeks back, makes me wonder maybe someone else is getting my toll bills. I don't have a vanity plate though.

Do you have a license plate frame that covers any part of the plate; the state in particular? Someone in Florida with the same plate number might be getting your bill.

Some states won't give out owner's information for toll collection. I know MN doesn't, I drove in TX on the toll roads there figuring I would just pay the bill when it came over. It never did, when I researched it I found out that tolls and certain other violations like red light tickets won't be passed on since they can't prove who was driving.

Also live in Mississippi and went to southern Florida in May. I received my tolls by mail which included a picture of my car and tag. Also I have a new plate so that is not the issue. Maybe you just got lucky.

i got a bill that was almost 1 year tardy.. seems they are not quick about getting these bills sent out..

We're from GA with a 'compatible' Peach Pass (license plate reader in FL). Our Preach Pass on-line account is updated about 1 month later. The rates are the same as the Sun Pass even though they read our license plate.
