Cast of Characters:

Sue - 44 - (Thinks she's 24) Chief Planner, Worrier, and Yo Yo Dieter.

Vicki - 16 - (Thinks she's 26) - Emo,Thrill Ride Seeker and Mums Best Friend.

We are up bright and early today as we are heading off to MGM. Grab a quick coffee and within minuets Vicki is asking me do I feel brave enough to ride Rock and Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror this year. Hang on a min hon, I need to let the coffee kick in before I even consider such a request. :rotfl2: We get to the boat dock just in time to see the boat to MGM leave. :rolleyes1

This however only gives Vic ample more oppertunity to tell me how brave I was to go on duelling dragons this year and how surley nothing can scare me now. Oh Im a sucker for such priase and before I know it, I have commited myself to saying yes I will ride the both of them as long as we do it first so that I can get them out of the way and relax for the rest of the day. Plan is agreed by my now estatic daughter and Im already starting to feel those butterflys in my tummy. I must be mad

We get off the boat in MGM and make our way round to get fastpasses for one and ride the other, I dont know at this stage which is the worse of the 2 evils, so I let Vicki decide which one to do first, she decides that we will do TOT first and get fastpasses for RnR. Passes obtained we walk to TOT, its really quiet here this morning, so no time for the nerves to kick in as we are in through the doors of the dreaded elevator before I can think about it.

I have to say that I had forgotton how good this ride is, and after being shot up and down in the air too many times than I care to remember, the deed is done, I must say I really did enjoy it. Vicki was delighted and said maybe we could come back again later. Yes hon maybe ...... :rotfl2:

Right over then to RnR and as the adrenalin was pumping I couldnt wait, I love the begining of this ride when it goes really fast, and had a blast. It was a brilliant way to start the day and after all if it makes Vicki happy then Im happy.

From here we head over to The Magic of Disney Animation as Vicki is studying animation in college, she is really keen to see this, it was really interesting and Vicki made loads of notes to take back to college with her.

There is a part right at the end of this where you can wait and have a little go at drawing, as we had just missed one session we hung around in the small holding area having a little go at the games consoles here and meeting The Incredables and taking photos of "Cars" Great laugh and interaction and before long it was time to go into our drawing session. Today we were drawing Stitch and "OH MY" an artist I will never be. Here is my poor attempt, :rotfl2: Vicki's on the other hand was great but somehow we forgot to take a picture of hers. :confused3

I was feeling a little peckish now and told Vicki I wanted to stop at the Writers shop to grab a white chocolate and Macademia Nut cookie(which are the best) but first we walked passed One Mans Dream and decided to go in. I love this attraction and again Vicki found loads of things that she felt would help here with her animation class back home, so we spent quite a bit of time in here. I love the film at the end and it was great to hear Julie Andrews doing the narration this time. :thumbsup2

This is Vicki's all time favorite picture of Walt and Mickey

Walked over to pick up my long awaited cookie and coffee and Vicki had a Chocolate cookie and Milk, she also bought a "High Street Musical" paperback book here, we sat outside the ABC Commissary to eat them.Yum!!!!

I have seen Lights Motor Action a couple of times and wasnt sure If I wanted to do it again, but we thought we would walk over and see when the next show was anyway. People were filing in so we thought why not, didnt know when we would be back again, so we better make the most of it. I cant say Im crazy about it, but its a nice enough way to get out of the heat for a littlee while and Vicki always loves it.

After riding the Great Movie Ride and doing the Disney Backlot tours, it was time for the parade, I love the Stars In Their Cars parade and it has been my favorite for a while. We did'nt have the best view but as the parade finished we seem to get dragged along just behind the rope with the parents of children who were carrying the rope, a cast member then shouted out to us to keep walking and there would be photo oppertunitys at the end. Now Im trying to convince Vicki to hold the rope as I have visions of the kids being allowed backstage with the characters and the parents allowed as well to take photos. Vicki tells me to "behave" as we are never going to get away with it, however I keep walking with all the other parents thinking Im going to get an oppertunity to follow the parade right behind the gates, and wondering what family with a small child holding on to this rope that I can attach myself to. :rotfl2:

However when we get to where all the cars dissapear the cast members then ask the parents would they all like to come to the front to take a photo of their children holding the rope, all the characters dissapear behind the gates and Vicki looks at me, rolls her eyes as if to say "I Told You" and "tut" "tut" at my eagerness to get to see something different and we continue on our way. :)

We then have a slow walk around all the streets, generally just taking in the atmosphere.

We stop for a rest, grab another quick coffee and milk and look to see if Mike and Sully are due out, there is a five min wait and as I love these 2, we hang around to grab a photo.

It was on this day after we had been here well over a week that Vicki came up with the idea of getting an autograph album signed by all the characters for her little step brother and step sister, and believe you me, she regretted it after. Queueing up to have your photo taken and have an autograph by some of the characters did nothing to stop Vicki feeling a little stupid. Oh mum if my friends could see me now, I wouldnt live it down. Good on you Vicki, you did something nice for somebody else and if you cant do that sort of thing at Disney...where can you do it. :goodvibes

It was now time to leave as we were babysitting tonight for Joseph as Kaylee and Alan were celebrating their anniversary by having dinner at the Yacht Club. After a quick change and a bite to eat, we met them at the Boardwalk boatdock where we walked over with them to the Yacht Club and had a nice little look around. This place is lovely but I have to say I prefer the Beach Club.

After saying bye and have a nice meal to Kaylee and Alan, we walked back over to the Boardwalk, where Vicki and I had a slice of pizza and our darling boy Jospeh slept soundly in his pushchair. The original plan was to either walk around Boardwalk or to walk over to Epcot, but it had gone off ever so slightly chilly, so Kaylee and Alan had given us their room key incase we wanted to take the baby back there. We got into the room and spent a lovely couple of hours with Joseph playing with all his Disney toys. He is an absolute darling of a baby and so very good and we miss him terribly now we are home.

Kaylee and Alan came back after a very nice meal and even though they had paid for our meal at ESPN the other night as thanks for looking after Joseph, they brought us both back a pin each. It was a lovely thought and we just want to just thank you again now, there was no need, after all, looking after Joseph was a delight.

We spent a little while having a chat, and then Vicki and I decided to have an early night. What a great day this had been.

Day 12: Rainy Day, Epcot and A Nasty Fall.

Great report - your brave going on TOT I am too scared to go on that :rotfl2:

Great report, you were very brave this year going on all of the scary rides!! :scared1:

Thanks for the detailed report of another busy day. Thanks, too, for the many pictures. You both look so very happy. I have to tell you, the ones taken of you sitting in turn in the convertible made me laugh. It looked like you were unsure which side of the car was the right side to sit and so you both chose the middle. Hope that's not an indication of confusion when you're driving over here.
Good for Vicki getting you on ToT and RnRC.

Great day :thumbsup2

we missed so much in MGM this year , we just ran out of time :rotfl2:

How did you get the boarders on now photopass pictures , I got the CD but no boards :confused3

I just love reading your trippies, its made me want to do one next year when we go. May I just ask where are you in the photo with San Francisco behind you? Having never been before I want to see everything!!!! (impossible I know but I'm going to have a blooming good try)

Thanks Wendy :goodvibes

The photo with San Francisco behind me, right here I go, Im hopless at giving directions :rotfl2:

As you walk into MGM Studios, head towards the big hat right in front of you, just after you pass the hat take a left down Commissary Lane, pass the ABC Commissary and the Sci- Fi dining areas, then take a right onto the Streets Of America. It should be right around that area. If you head towards Lights Motor Action, you wont go far wrong. Hope that helps. :thumbsup2 I have some spare park maps here, if you would like some to help you plan for next year, just drop me a PM. :thumbsup2

A fantastic day Sue and a great trippie - you got shedloads done and were very brave to do ToT and RnRC. You make ToT sound a doddle - was it?

I wish I'd done ToT now but I wimped out initially (I dread drops) and then didn't have the time to return  I'll do it next time though.

I agree with Lizzy - the San Fran shot works really well. I missed it too. Didn't that used to be a New York view?

Thanks for the offer Sue, but someone from another forum had a copy of one of my many planning DVD's and asked if there was anything she could get me, so I asked for park maps and have been studying them since. I will go and get them out and mark a massive great red cross on it!
Wendy

another great report Sue, aren't you the brave one? ToT and RnRC are the only two rides I haven't done! still it gives me an excuse to go back someday!

A lovely day, Sue. You are so brave and a very cool mum. I love your Jack Skellington vest. :goodvibes
