BTW, why are all those people all bundled up? I though FL was the *sunshine* state!

espec. like the first one ..but wondering....how do they deep fry Pepsi, that and the roast beef sundae might make me think all the sunshine has addled a few brains in FL ( i have to say that due to the lack of sunshine induced crabbiness in OH )

I think they dry out the syrup they make the Pepsi with then batter it with doughnut batter and deep fry it. Fortunately I cannot report on what it taists like I avoided the "Roast Beef Sundai" also.

I did try a deep fried peanut butter cup last year- kind of like a doughnut with a gooey pb center.

Yes still liking my 10-20...

And BTW- It was 27 at my house this morning - with FROST! And it's only supposed to get to 59 Brrrrrrrrr!

I am a little farther south, so it is going to be 68 today, but I agree overnight it is Brrrrrrrrr! After only four years here, I think it is cold below 70! I would never make it back up in KY again.

Nice pictures. We were thinking of going to tonight's Edison Festival of Lights Grand Parade in Ft. Myers, but it starts after dark and I think the kids would complain too much about the cold.

FL cannot take credit for the deep fried soda. The carnies created this one and it is aparently nationwide. I believe it is more common as Coke. I have never seen one, but I believe it is basically a funnel cake with Coke in the batter instead of water and then Coke syrup is drizzled over it. Completely calorie and fat free

Kevin, it's the first year I have missed the parade. i just couldn't deal with the cold any more. lol I was at my son's baseball game, which started at 5:00. the plan was to go to the parade after the game. never happened. I had to thaw out first. loll

the company I work for is in charge of all the food and beverage. They were busier than usual and sent for our chef this weekend. Must have been the weather. lol I was looking to see if I knew anyone. No luck. They do sub out some of the food stands too.

So am I to understand that you or the company you work for may be responsible for the invention of the "Roast Beef Sundae" pictured with the cherry on top? I can't believe everyone comments on the deep fried pepsi and that gets a pass.
