Spoke with a wonderful lady today at the payment plan phone line and she said that when you make your initial payment online, you will receive a confirmation email regarding your purchase. You will also receive "E" tickets to print out and trade in at any of the parks or at Downtown Disney to receive your actual pass. The passes do not go into effect until you turn in the "E" ticket. Woohoo...now I just have to save up enough for 3 one day tickets and I am set until I go in November! Love it!! Hope this info helps.
let me start as someone who is using this wonderful service. I am doing the payment plan now. My old pass expired on 7/12/10 and I didn't have the money to renew (was staying at WDW 7/12 thru 7/16/10) immediately so opted for the payment plan. The initial payment was equivilant to a one day's pass plus tax. Also they take out the first months payment also. You receive an e-mail confirming this and also a printable ticket to take to the parks to trade in for your annual passes. The start date of the pass is the date you take it to the park and obtain the regular pass. Monthly payments will be taken off of your credit/debit card automatically every month.

Well there you go right from the horses' mouth as they say thanks for telling us all this from personal experience, so you bought a NEW AP ? one more question..you still get the extra 3 months (which should end mid August promo right? )
That contacts the little office - and i mean little - that sits around printing tickets and controlling the computer systems that the parks, resorts, and reservations deal with.
They are extremely busy and multi-hour wait during busy periods to speak to them is not unheard of.
Robyn if you go back up to post # 21 of this thread by Cheshire Figment & go to the ticket sticky post # 21 also it may help you....I don't think AP Renewals can be done with the payment plan
it also addresses DVC member ...check it out he's always spot on with info !

Thanks, Ruthie, I did check those posts. I know this is not available yet for the other types of APs...but one can hope. If it should be offered, I wanted to know what it might cost us monthly.

oh okay sorry...I've had a stressful day here at the Dis I really need to stay away from topics that push my buttons so in my frame of mind I won't even attempt checking your math or anything else
When we start doing renewals you will not have to make a down payment on a renewal. The first of the 12 monthly installments will be no later than the next business day after you do the renewal (live or online).
If purchasing at a WDW window the only acceptable forms of identification for the purchaser are specifically a Florida Driver's License, a Florida State-Issued ID, or a Florida Voter's Registration card along with a photo ID. If purchasing online there has to be both a Florida Zip Code as well as the system making sure the origination IP Address is within Florida. For persons other than the one making the payment, the normal Florida ID rules apply.
And if you have purchased any level of AP on the MPP and then decide to upgrade to a higher level AP the monthly payments do not change and you have to pay the difference in price just as any other upgrade.
For purchases made at WDW the down payment may be adjusted and may be any amount as long as it is at least equal to a one day, one theme park, pass.
If upgrading to an AP specific rules apply. Normal upgrade policies generally are followed. The down payment must be at least the current gate value of the pass upgrading from (no change will be given). No upgrade will be done more than 14 days from date of first use; this includes the Play-3 and Play-4 passes which normally have a six-month upgrade window.
Note (See Post #18 of the sticky) that all Florida Resident AP prices are lower than the same pass for DVC Members. So there is no MPP for DVC Members. It is for Florida Resident only.
Here he comes to save the day (oh wait a minute that was Mighty Mouse theme!) See I knew I could count on you CheshireFigment like Batman or Superman to hear the call and come swooping down to the rescue

I bought a new AP and could not renew my existing one. I will break down the figures for you. I purchased 2 adult 4 park with hopping. The cost $392.99 per ticket plus $47.98 for tax which gives us a total of $785.98. Down payment was $168.28 and the first monthly payment will be charged a little later after you finalize your transaction that day. There are 12 payments--the first 11 are $51.48 and the last payment is 51.42
