Florida resident ticket question

Ok I have a close friend who wants to take her kids to Disney.
Her Father-inlaw lives there. Is there a way for them to get the FL resident discount? If her dad makes the res and checks him in does he have to stay in the room?? I know this is boarderline unethical but they need to save money.
Also with tickets. If the fater-inlaw bought the adult tickets would the 2 non residents be able to use them if he hasn't used them first? Or do they check your ID at the turnstyle?
Please don't flame me I'm just trying to see if they can save a buck.

When you check in, they ask for photo ID, which in nearly every case, the person supplies a driver's license. The CM at check-in might not notice that you got the FL rate, but probably will. You will get charged rack rate if you cannot provide proof of Florida residency. But, if the reservation is in the father in law's name and he is there at check-in, they will probably get away with it.

As for tickets, it's more strict. They will definitely require proof of residency for each adult buying a ticket. They will not let one person buy multiple adult FL resident passes.

What if the inlaws bought the two tickets and then gave them to the 2 adults. Do they check ID at the turnstile?
The FL residents wouldn't use them first. they would just purchase them and then hand them off later to the other 2 adults.....

What type of tickets are they? I'm not sure about the Play 3 Days passes, but seasonals and annuals have names on the back.

I'm not advocating this, just describing the risks involved. The fact that Disney now requires the finger scan for ALL multiday passes is an indication of their tolerance for scamming the system.

They would just be 2 or 3 day tickets. Are there even FL res discounts for these types of tickets??

1)Actually, it's not borderline at all, it's pretty clear.
2)It's sad ethics get lost as soon as money is involved.
3) Asking not to get flamed, pretty much ensures you will be because you know you are asking about something that is wrong to do.

Florida resident tickets are for Florida residents. I would hate to see people who are from Florida lose this perk because of abuse of the system (and I'm not from Florida).

If the father is there at check in to provide his Florida ID then they would get away with it. If he's not and they ask, the rate will go to rack rate. Maybe they should just stay in a value resort or off site rather than bucking the system, just a thought.

As far as the tickets go, they are for Florida residents only, sorry. If something goes wrong at the turnstiles, like the finger scanner doesn't work correctly which happens all the time, they will ask to see ID and it will need to be a Florida ID. The first time we used our old Play 4 pass that was for FL residents the person at the turnstile actually asked to see our IDs.

Rather than doing the wrong thing, maybe they should shorten their trip by a day. I would really hate to see Disney take away some of the small perks we get as Florida residents by people abusing the system.

If money is that tight, then rather than trying to scam the system, your friends really need to do what's in their budget.

they check for florida id at check in with florida rates same for florida tickets & they check at the turnstiles for florida id. we just went in november & his cousin met us for the day. they asked for his id at the parks.

another idea for saving $, stay with the florida inlaws instead of at a disney hotel. have your friend save her money & plan the trip for farther out or get a disney visa & have 6 months no interest to pay.
