Any word yet on what Disney will be offering to Fl residents in 2014 ??

No.

But if past years are any example, they will probably have deeply discounted three and four day tickets from some time in January which will expire some time in May or June. These tickets would be able to be upgraded but there would be no price-bridging from the selling price.

Last spring I purchased the FL resident 4 day with park hopper as did my parents and sister. They said they were able to upgrade to the Epcot after 4 pass for an additional 30 dollars I believe. I wanted to just make sure that is the case so that I can do that this spring when I purchase the FL resident special if it is offered. Can I use all 4 days and then upgrade after? At what point can I upgrade and not lose the remaining days on my4 day pass.

1. They got some Pixie Dust (and found a CM who did not know the correct procedure).

2. Officially any ticket that you upgrade to must include all entitlements which you have used. To upgrade a MYW ticket to an Epcot After 4:00 the ticket must not have been used at any of the other parks, and all entries to Epcot must have been after 3:45pm.

The proper upgrade should have been at least to a Weekday Select (if only used on weekdays) or Seasonal Pass.

3. The current cost of the Epcot After 4:00 pass is (new) $174 or (renewal) $149 plus tax.

Cheshire I have a reverse question for you. If I was going to purchase the Epcot after 4 pass for
an upcoming trip, would I be able to upgrade it to a 4 day park hoper in the spring if the special is rolled out?

Probably no.

1. More than likely a promotional resident four day ticket would be less than the cost of the EA4.

2. Each entry you would have used at Epcot would be a use day for the four day ticket.

Hi Cheshire Figment,

If I buy the FLRes ticket on 3-23-14 and upgrade it with 1 day left on 3-27 to a week day annual pass when would the weekday pass be effective?

School vacation for the kids vary depending on Easter but I would love to get two trips out of it. And how much would it cost if I got the 4 day hopper and upgraded it to a weekday pass.

Thanks so much for all the information you give out!
.

Still nothing about the ticket promo...getting worried they may not have it this year.

If they don't offer it this year, the next best thing is the annual weekday seasonal pass for $208. You can't use it on weekends, summer, Christmas and Easter weeks....but by the time you add the park hopper to the other pass its about $50 more but the you get a whole year instead of just 4 days.

Even better, get the 4 day pass and use up the first 4 days on the weekends. Then upgrade to the weekday select. We did this last year and the differential between the 4 day and the weekday was only like $10pp.

That being said, I have been watching for an announcement of some kind about the FL res tickets. Last year it was announced on 12/28 so it's not looking good.

So onto Disney Website. They will start selling it on January 4th. 3 day Discovery Disney Ticket for 129.00 plus tax. Add another day for 20 dollars more for 149.00 plus tax. :woohoo:

Just saw it on TV too.

Last year it was $119 for 3 days and $129 for 4 with $30 for park hopper.

Staceyeileen when you upgraded to the weekday pass when did the annual passes become effective? The day you first started using them or the day you bought them? Also did they back date them to the day you purchased the Fl res pass. I'd liked to get 2 vacations out of them but I don't know when the kids will be on spring break next year. Thanks!

I bought them in early 2012, and first used the 4-day passes in December 2012. We did the upgrade sometime in April to the weekday select pass and the pass just expired in Dec 2013.

Interesting! MK has different block out dates than the other parks. That's a change.

The 3- and 4-day Florida Resident Discover Disney Tickets are valid for use January 4 through June 6, 2014, with the exception of the following admission blockout dates and locations:

April 12 to April 19, 2014: Not valid at any theme parks or gated attractions
February 15 to February 16, 2014: Not valid at Magic Kingdom Park
April 20 to April 25, 2014: Not valid at Magic Kingdom Park
May 24 to May 25, 2014: Not valid at Magic Kingdom Park

Thanks for the information.

The MK blackout is very interesting. April 20-25 th is spring break in northeast.

We will probably go with the week day pass as it's only $28 more than a ph 4 day and we have a year to enjoy it. Just found out that our spring break next year will be the week before Easter.......:confused3. When there are no deals on anything...and rates are at Peak rates...... Not too happy about it......but when Disney finds this out next year that numerous counties will not have spring break in March to fill the parks they may have to offer better deals.

So I'll just have to plan some trips during the week when the kids have a day or 2 off as we will be staying home spring break 2015 unless they change it. Our county gave us the option to provide feedback on the proposed school year calendar. So any one in Manatee county who doesn't want spring break Easter week let them know. Info is at baynews9

Is there a link to any official word on this?

I searched WDW.com but didn't see anything....

I haven't seen any confirmation of the pricing on the site, but if you go to the ticket purchase page for Florida residents you'll see the black out dates for Discover Disney tickets mentioned at the bottom of the page.
