Florida resident silver pass question

Does anyone know if a purchase a silver pass from AAA can I activate it at a later date? Looking to purchase for my son and family that live in Florida when we are there in February, but not activate until November.

We wanted to give the pass to our kids who live in Florida for Christmas. We are non-residents.
To make it easier, we just sent them a visa gift card and they went online to set things up and picked up the passes at the gate.
My son did not think they would sell us passes to activate later since we do not have a Florida id.
