So my Mom booked the reservations for our stay, including tickets and resort. When we check in to POR, as she's a Florida resident and reservation/tickets are under her name (she has license, utilitiy bill etc) are they also going to ask to see my ID? I don't live down there, but she got the tickets for us under the deal. The travel agent said I should just wait outside and let her do check in and that they normally don't ask to see the other guests IDs. Any thoughts on this?

All Florida Resident Tickets Require Proof of Residency

Proof of Florida residency is required -- you must provide any one of the following:

Valid Florida driver's license
Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
Florida-based military ID

Please note that as of August 2010, Voter registration cards and Florida College/University ID's are no longer acceptible proof of full-time residency.

The persons who will use the Florida Resident adult tickets must be present at the time of ticket pick up. If you do not have one of the IDs indicated above, then for each adult ticket purchased you must provide one of the following dated within the last two months and evidencing a Florida residential address together with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card):

Monthly mortgage statement
Florida vehicle registration or title
Homeowner's insurance policy or bill
Automobile insurance policy or bill
Utility bill
Mail from a financial institution, including checking, savings, or investment account statement
Mail from a Federal, State, County or City government agency
Bills can be no more than two (2) months old. PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency. Current bills printed from electronic versions are acceptable, though photocopies and fax copies are not.

We've had FL resident tickets & AP, and when my husband goes up to the window they require my ID and my adult daughter's ID. They don't ask for ID for our two minors.

they need to see id for anyone over 18 claiming to be a Florida resident. The discounts are usually very good and just imagine what would happen if you only needed one person in your group to have FL ID. Sorry.

On a side note, since your mom does live in FL, there are ways you can also get a FL ID.

Yeah, I don't feel comfortable trying to prove I'm a Florida resident just for the discount. So I guess my Mom will get the rate/discount and ill have to pay full price. I just wonder, if that means the room rate will go up for us too since the room is under her name and we are staying together? Or if just the ticket rate will go up for me? We got a package.

The only problem with getting just a Florida id you must give up your current state license. I went to renew my fl id and the lady told me I would forfeit my current license from my current state

I don't know how they'll do it if you wait until check in to advise them you aren't a Florida resident, but a Florida resident is able to book a room only with the room discount regardless of the other party members. The issue is strictly the tickets.

Okay -- we booked through Small World Vacations, and they advised it was okay. I'll probably just have to pay difference of tickets. My mom is FL resident and room is under her name. Thanks for help :)
