I am a Florida resident and I am curious about something. If I were to have some family or friends come from out of state and I booked 2 or 3 rooms to accomodate everyone and paid for them in full on my credit card, can I get the Florida resident rate for all the rooms, or only the one I am staying in?

I believe that you can, being a Florida resident myself. But yes, I think you would have to reserve all the rooms in your name, and the payment would have to be on your credit card. Also, last time I reserved another room for someone else, I had trouble with them putting their own card down at the hotel for charging on the room key- they told me even the room key charges had to be on my credit card as well, although that may have just been another cast member who doesn't know if it can be done the other way or not.

We just did this last fall (October) at PO French Quarter. The desk was excellent at getting rooms together even though we (my family) came in a night early to get organized and do Airport Pick-ups for the out of state family. Only wrinkle, but turned out easy to set up, was room charging privledges. Each family visited the desk to set up separate room charging accounts. This was easy since I was aware of it. Setting this all up at your Florida rate is easy if you pay for it and then get re-imbursed from the others.

Thank You Artemus! And may I ask, how many rooms and how much family did you set up for? I'm thinking about possibly setting up a small "family reunion" in the future and I am just wondering how this has worked for others. For instance, did everyone do their own thing, or did you have activities/itineraries planned for everyone? Thanks for your time.:D

We had to get three, and they were side by side. Since we go a few times a year, I played tour guide and had the PS's setup and most days scheduled. There were 4 cousins (kids) so we had pool time set and found that our own kids lasted longer. Really we "pushed" more than we would have if it were just us, because the cousins would not be back for years and were first timers. It all worked out fine. Only had to contend with rain two days but we had things to do at the resort and Downtown Disney. No one just sat in the room waiting for the rain to stop.

We have done WDW with another family of friends also. But I think we all greatly prefer to be there just as a single family, we do have more fun and take it much slower.

Yes, we have gone with family a few times, but really enjoy our time as a single family the most. It is hard to travel as a group!:D

Thanks!
