Anyone ever use their credit card statement as proof as residency?? We recently bought our passes. The cast member I spoke to told me that my daughter could use her credit card statement as her proof. We are leaving for Disney this weekend and I called just to verify that I have what I need and was told that a credit card statement is not an acceptable form of proof. :confused3

From disneyworld.com:
Florida Resident Tickets:
Proof of a Florida residential address is required. For each ticket purchased for an adult, you may provide any of the following:
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
  • Valid Florida-based military ID
If you do not have one of the IDs indicated above, then for each ticket purchased for an adult you must provide one of the following dated within the last 2 months and evidencing a Florida residential address (not a PO Box) together with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card):
  • Monthly mortgage statement
  • Florida vehicle registration or title
  • Homeowner's insurance policy or bill
  • Automobile insurance policy or bill
  • Utility bill
  • Mail from a financial institution, including checking, savings or investment account statement
  • Mail from a federal, state, county or city government agency
The persons who will use the Florida Resident adult tickets must be present at the time of ticket pick up. A print of an electronic bill of the type described above is acceptable. Photocopies and fax copies of bills are not acceptable.

One could argue what is a financial institution. If the Florida office of Financial Regulation recognizes the credit company as a financial institution then I'm pretty sure Disney would have to too.

Kinda hard to argue with the state!

Yeah, you're kind of at the whim of whoever is working the ticket booth when you get there. My wife and I elected to renew our Florida driver's licenses on a recent trip to Jacksonville because we didn't want to take the chance on trying to use our military exemption cards (tl;dr, Florida military stationed out of state can continue to use drivers licenses past the published expiration date). At the end of the day, Disney can choose to accept your proof of residency or not and it has nothing to do with Florida or federal law, but corporate policy and even that is open to the interpretation of the CM who happens to be working the day you go.

Except that Disney then specifies "Including checking, savings, investment" so they'll argue those are the specifics they'll accept.

I can verify that they do, in fact, accept checking/savings statements. BUT...they cannot be more than 2 months old, so bring in a recent one. They barely glanced at the address, but they did look at it.

Can anyone explain if there is any kind of discount for a Florida resident? Disney's site is rather vague. We are going to MK for a day in December and plan on staying the night on property. My grandma who will be with us lives in Florida half of the year and she had asked about a Florida discount, but I told her I believed that you had to have FL driver's license. We would most likely be booking via AAA if that makes any difference. Any answers would be great...THANKS!

There is FL Resident Pricing on 3 & 4 Day MYW Tickets and Annual Passes.

No, you do not need to have a FL driver's license, though it is obviously one way to proof residency. Other ways are detailed in the post above by erionm.

But, the discount starts at 3 day tickets, so if you're only going 1 (or even 2) days, there is no discount for residents.

Also, a biggie..... EACH adult has to provide one of the items on that list. Kids under 18 don't have to, but adults do. So Grandma is a resident and can get the discount, but she can't buy them for family members over 18.

Thanks for the responses! I didn't think we would be able to use it, but I just wanted to check :-)

Thanks for the info. I thought the term "financial Institution" was kind of vague. That's why I called to ask before I even bought the tickets. The original CM told me that credit card statement were considered a financial institute. When I called back yesterday, the CM in the ticket department could not tell me yes or no. She transferred me to some one in upper management in Guest Services. I was told that it would be up to the discretion of the CM when I pick up our passes. I guess we will see on Sunday when we arrive. Worst case, I will have to pay the difference to upgrade her ticket to a regular season pass. It's certainty not going to ruin our vacation.
