Hi,
Gov. Bush has warned of petrol shortages as a result of Katrina.
Here's a link to story, there's also a link to the differing fuel prices on the same page too.

Fuel Shortage

Mick.

As of today our price in the north has not changed but we expect it to any time.

It will still be less then you are paying in the UK.

I'm in Michigan too right now. The price today jumped 40 cents from the morning to the afternoon at one of the Speedways in Troy. I'm sure that's representative.

you can say that again - we are currently paying 87 pence ($1.62) per LITRE

87p !! we are paying 90p in the midlands :guilty:

Its about 90 pence down here too :(

I live in the Orlando area. There are some shortages at the moment. They announced on TV that there is a shortage of deisel which will make it hard for the school buses to pick up kids beginning next week. I think people over reacted and started storming the gas stations. This morning, I needed gas. I had to wait in line for about ten minutes at the Hess station across from Downtown Disney. I paid $2.90 a gallon. My sister say a line of about 30 cars waiting to get into a station on Highway 50.

I really think this is just an over reaction. It happened right after hurricane Charley. I could be wrong, but I think there really will not be a shortage in this area. Prices, on the otherhand, will be high.

At some petrol stations here its 96p a litre!!!

Paid 92.9p today!

Wow, I paid $2.55 per gallon last week at that petrol station!

Well, as of this evening, many stations in Orlando are out of gas. It is really silly. People are filling their tanks when they don't need to and filling extra containers. The governor has asked people not to do this. It shouldn't last, but at this time, it is kind of a mess.
