Im sorry to hear that.

I have lost nobody, and I know a lot of people. A few have had it and they described it as a mild flu. Few days of rest and they are back at it.

I myself have had numerous conversations with personal friends who are doctors and nurses, so believe me I am not downplaying anything. Its real.

Sounds like you have some bad luck, or know a lot of people over the age 70 with other underlying issues. CDC just released data this week, folks under the age of 50 have a better chance of being struck by lightening than dying of covid. Those ages of 50-70 have a 99.5 percent chance of survival should they contract it. If you have that many personal connections dying from covid, you should probably reconsider visiting the parks anyways.

The rest of us want our parks, and our LIFE back.

I am sure you can understand that.
2022 at the soonest, only 1 over 65 and my husband's job prohibits visits to theme parks

Where do you get off thinking you speak for the rest of us? Very narrow-minded of you. I, like many others, hope Disney does the right thing and continues to requires masks.

I'm speaking for many, obviously you are not one of them.

Many of us have remained silent through a lot of this. We've went along with 'slowing the spread' for 6 months, giving up the things we love and the small bits of freedom here and there for 'the greater good' as we've been told. People I know have lost their jobs and have been left with financial stress due to this.

We are done.

Keep your mask as long as you please. It is up to you, that is how it should always be. In the same respect as you stated, you do NOT speak for all us.

Have a blessed weekend.

Thank you. I want to go back be safe and have numbers down where my dh's job allows us to go

I have seen this posted before in other places.

No offense, but it is not a very intelligent comparison by any means. I have never seen anyone speak and then witness a stream of pee or spit fly out as they open their mouth.

It is an over exaggerated meme that I hope is a joke and not a serious basis for masks.

Have a good weekend regardless. I am not getting into this debate. Enjoy your mask!

I'm not sure that they need to remove the mask requirement tomorrow, but I really hope that Disney doesn't continue to require masks for an unreasonable period after the rest of the state has opened up.

Personally, my family is planning to go in May 2021, but will not go if masks are still required.

Keep things at Disney the way they are. Obviously there hasn’t been any issues coming out of Disney.....as far as we know. No reason to “F” things up. Trust me, I’d much rather not wear a mask if I don’t have to. And no sense ramping up capacity too soon and creating an unneeded disaster. Ride the year out and look forward to a better 2021.

Pretty reasonable response, and likely what they end up going with.

I dont think they will make any sudden changes and likely looking at 2021 as a more 'return to normal' for Disney, sadly.

Makes me seriously consider postponing spring break trip, we already were looking at outdoor dining and low key visit but if they increase capacity there is no way I will feel safe. Those willing to take the risk will happily grab my reservation and they can have it. I refuse to pass this virus on to an unsuspecting compromised person when I get back home. Certainly don’t feel safe just because the governor thinks he knows better than science.

For months now, everyone has been saying "If you don't want to wear a mask, then don't go to Disney".

Well, in my opinion, at some point in the future, that is going to need to change to "If you don't feel comfortable with other people NOT wearing masks, then don't go to Disney".

I'm hoping that is sooner than later.

There is NO way Disney drops their safety protocols. For Pete's sake, DISNEYLAND IS STILL CLOSED and if WDW suddenly decides to abandon masks and distancing and goes back to full capacity, the Disney company can kiss any hope of reopening Disneyland anytime soon goodbye.

It will change when there is a vaccine.

It will change when there is a vaccine.

Which might be a while. Apparently the volunteers who have trialed the vaccine are experiencing neurological problems. I wont get in to details as to what problems are being reported as that could cause panic, but my family wont be lining up to get said vaccine anytime soon after release. We will take our chances and roll the dice with covid, just like we do with every other disease. We also are a healthy family, I understand not everyone has that same luxury.

Irresponsible post with inflammatory information.

Same here. We are booked for Spring break as well and wouldn't be comfortable going with no masks and increased capacity. I truly have very little concern about my family's health, but it would kill me to know that we passed it to someone else who wasn't as healthy as we are, and couldn't fight it.

People either forget or don't seem to understand that we wear masks to protect other people. Me wearing a mask doesn't do me any good. But it does help protect YOU from ME if I contract Covid or the flu. I can't figure out if the anti mask folks are just that careless about other people's health or if they truly don't understand.

At the very least Disney should loosen the mask requirements to the point where wearing a gaiter is acceptable for park entrance.

the topic of Disney's guidelines is being discussed in the covid operational thread on the main board.
At this moment Disney has received the new guidelines and is not making any changes to their procedures and safety measures, this was posted on their internal CM website.
The operational thread will be updated as soon as Disney makes any changes
A reminder that political discussion is not allowed on these boards and will incur in warning points. please follow the DIS guidelines
