How long did it take to get your marriage license by mail? Who did you go through and how much did it cost? We're trying to get this done by out wedding date of November 27th but it said that it was only valid for 60 days so we've waited til exactly 60 days, but we just found a website that said it would take 8 weeks to get it. Who should we go through? :confused3

Hi Jess,

We applied through Say I Do Weddings Inc. and they're pretty fast. They e-mailed the liscence application to me pretty much as soon as they received my initial information. The delay has been due to the mail (it takes about a week to get things to FL from Canada, even if we express it through CanadaPost) and booking an appointment with a notary. However, if you were to FedEx the paperwork you wouldn't have these delays. I also searched around for a notary who would charge the lowest price, which took extra time. I sent the initial information on Sept 16th, today I mailed the notarized copy of the application to them. I would expect you could do it within 3 weeks if you FedEx'ed the papers and didn't delay in getting a notary...

hope this helps!

Thanks guys! Looking forward to this being done and over with because I can't think about anything else or concentrate on anything else!!!!

know the feeling! im stressing about mine as the post to the UK can be dreadful! doe anyone knowhow they send it? fed ex or standard snail mail?

ours was sent via fed ex by a wedding for you inc.

i cant believe how close your wedding is getting now laura!

Say I Do Weddings doesn't actually send you the licence itself. They e-mailed me the application as a PDF file, which I printed and brought to the notary. Once it's completed at the court house they forward it to your WP. I asked my co-ordinator about Say I Do vs. A Wedding for you because I hadn't heard about Say I Do before I received my planning kit. She said they preferred to work with Say I Do because they send the liscence directly to them. The price was about the same, and I figured it was once less thing I had to worry about forgetting.

So far I've been really impressed! They're super fast.

I live in Fl and just got mine.
It really wasnt bad.
We filled out the paper paid 93.50 showed out DL that was it.
after she had us sign the cert and told us that on the weddingday the minister or Notary signs it and you mail it in and they send you a certified copy back a few weeks later.
Oh you have to wait 3 days after you pick it up from the CH inorder to get married.
I dunno if its a Fl or a Palm beach county thing.
If you dont take a marrige class you have to wait 3 days before the cert is vailid for notary.
Yay!
Easy as Pie
