Saw this on tv last night..............it was on one of our outdoor/travel shows.

Looks really lovely, but I was sooo amazed at how far that bridge goes................must be the longest bridge in the world surely.

Just wanted to say I liked what I saw & if any of you live there, you are sooo lucky:sunny:

If you are speaking of the 7 mile bridge, its really not that long.....however, if you combine that bridge and the 4 or 5 others you go across, before getting to that one, than, yea, its long!:o :p  It takes 3.5 hours to get to KEY WEST from where I live!::yes::

What they showed last night was drviing from Florida to Key West, along a bridge that resembled a highway more than a bridge. Key West looks so pretty & so peaceful. They also said that Key West is RV Heaven. Almost everyone who owns an RV goes to Key West.......but the prices of some of those RV's Whoa!!!

Those RV's are about the price of a small house!:p Yes, the ride is very nice, you sometimes forget you are still in Florida!::yes::

We went to Key West 2 years ago. We liked it, but it is expensive there. Lots of kitties there also!:teeth:

A couple of years ago we drove from Maine to Key West, with a stop at Busch Gardens in Tampa. One of my favorite parts of the drive was across what is known as "alligator alley". The road runs across the bottom of Florida near the Everglades. I loved spotting gators along the way. Of course, I was the one driving and everyone kept saying, "Watch the road, not the gators!"

The drive through the Keys is the most beautiful drive I've ever been on. The water is absolutely gorgeous, and it was fun seeing all the small towns along the way. We loved all the mailboxes with statues of manatees and dolphins.

We also liked all the kitties and doggies in Key West, many of whom were dressed up- shorts, t-shirts, sunglasses, etc. The first day we were there, we saw a man walking down DuVal Street with three dogs. All the dogs were wearing bandanas and sunglasses! We liked the chickens running around, too. Crazy place. There is no place like Key West and I can't wait to go back! :)

Is it an expensive place to visit?

DMIL would love to go one day, just wondering how many pennies she would have to save.
