Does anyone have any recommendations for exchanges in southern Florida (i.e. Keys, Marco or Sannibel Island, Sarasota). We are considering this but would like some feedback from some that have gone.

The Hyatt's and Galleon in Key West come to mind as well as the Marriott's at West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale. There are a number of well though of resorts that I am not as familiar with. I'd be worried about Sanibel and Captiva at this time, give it another year or so. You may want to join TUG (Timeshare Users Group) and look at the ratings and reviews for all resorts and cross reference to the DVC - II list.

Did you ever trade your Marriott HHI Resort week for one in WPB or FL? If not, were you able to get any deals through Interval International?

Let me qualify. I did own a week at Marriott's Habour Pointe which I bought solely for exchanging Marriott to Marriott. It was a week 35 2 BR which usually starts the Sat of Labour Day. While it is 5*, it is not in the class of DVC, Ocean Pointe, etc. I traded it back into HP for a better week, to Grande Ocean for 4th of July, Monarch (also Marriott on HH) for 4th of July twice and twice to Ocean Pointe. In every case they were a trade up in resort quality and week demand. Only in one case did I get a smaller unit (1 BR at OP) as that was all we needed. I have since sold this unit.

I also own three HH Platinum weeks, two at Grande Ocean and one at the new Surfwatch. I have never traded any of them and wouldn't for anything I listed above. I would be very particular about what I traded them to, just like I would for my DVC. I usually use them EOY and then rent them out the in between years. I usually reserve 4th of July and have no trouble renting them when I don't use them.

As for deals, about the only deal you'll get is an exchange that fits your needs and possibly a bonus week, which I don't see as a big incentive normally.
