Floral Question

I was wondering if there were any Disney Brides and/or professional florist that might be able to help answer a question for me. I'm getting married in Disney Oct 7th, 2011. For my bouquet I'm doing a cascading bouquet of fall colored flowers ( mango and plum mini calla lilies, orange tiger lilies, Terra Cotta roses, Black Magic roses, dark orange roses (darker than Orange Unique), dark orange gerbera daisies, stephanotis, ivy, and greenery). For the groom's boutonniere we are doing a mini calla lily with 1 stephanotis and ivy.

We are doing a Magic Kingdom photoshoot, with our flowers, at 7:30 am, then our ceremony is at 10am, and then we are doing more pictures until 11:30am. Right now Disney Floral is suggesting that we do a floral refresh on my bouquet for $75 between the photoshoot and the ceremony and they suggest a new boutonniere.

My question is if we really need the refresh and the new boutonniere? Shouldn't our flowers be able to last 4 hours?

Thoughts? Advice?

Good question!

Cascading Bouquets are made using a cage holder (thing-a-ma-jobby), it holds water to keep your flowers fresh...those types of flowers 'shouldn't' wilt or go bad. If they are designed just hand tied then YES I would definitely do a refresh. HOWEVER, when you are taking pictures with your bouquet it is very common to accidently damage the bouquet, or maybe a flower falls out of place - or maybe the gerbera didn't drink enough water and he starts drooping (and Gerbera Daisies show very easily/quickly when they loose water)? Do you have the option to just schedule a refresh and if you don't decide to do the refresh then don't do it? October also helps because the humidity will be 'lower'...If it should be in the 80s-90s I would DEFINITELY do the refresh.

I'm hoping some other brides with past experience with bouquets/shoots in WDW and their experience with the refresh situation will jump in!

(I own a flower shop - have been specializing in wedding florals for about 10 years - I'm only coming at it from a standpoint of the florist. So I hope you get some brides responses!)

(I would definitely get the boutonniere refreshed - It will start wilting by the time the ceremony comes!!!!)

I am actually getting silk flowers made before I leave to take with me for my photo shoot. We are having our photo shoot 6 days later so I knew my own bouquet would not be up to par....4 hours later that does sound a bit crazy AND they cannot include the refresher?
