Hey everybody-
DH and I are in the midst of designing an addition for our home which includes a master bedroom and bathroom. I would love to model our master bath after the DVC master bathrooms. I especially like the BCV bathroom. Are there any floorplans out there that have room dimensions?

Thanks!:D

If I remember correctly, the original offering statement books at OKW did have floor plans with architectural dimensions included. There were very small diagrams and almost impossible to read the print.

Since that time (1993) I haven't seen that level of detail in any of the other resort documents. Unless someone else has a more direct answer for you, you may want to see if your DVC guide could get some dimensions for you.

We patterned our master bathroom after the OKW design during a home renovation a few years ago. I took a tape measure to OKW and made my own diagram. Our new bathroom is not the same size as those at OKW ( :( ) , but the basic design is similar.

Good luck with your project! :)

Oops, I did this for VWL without reading your post carefully. Here are some key dimensions for the baths at BCV. You can draw it to scale on graph paper using these dimensions and the rest should fall into place. I scaled the plans I found on the website in AutoCad using a standard 30" stove as my reference.

Anyway, the big oval tub is 6'4 x 4' (this is not the oval, it's the overall enclosure of the tub.) The sink next to the tub is 5' long and 2' (standard counter width) wide. The shower is 3' wide, 5'4 on the longer side and 3' on the shorter side. The niche that holds the pedestal sink is 3'4 x 2' deep. The wall behind the toilet is 4' and the wall to the right of the toilet is 4'6. The overall dimensions of the whole bathroom are 15'x15' (from tub to corner and from corner to end of toilet room). That's VERY approximate. All of those dimensions are assuming the plans are drawn to scale, but they don't sound too far off for me. Things like showers and tubs and toilets and sinks tend to have fairly standard sizes so you can probably piece together whatever info you are missing that way.

Doors are either 2'6 or 3' (3' are very large doors and I've always been struck by how oversized the doors are on the bathrooms at DVC).

Anyway, hope that helps!

Lisa

Great idea. We've talked about if we build another house it's going to be exactly like the beach cottage at Vero. We love the layout.

Thanks Doc and Lisa F!

I knew if I came to the board someone would be able to give me info. Lisa, your measurements are so helpful! Now I can sketch it out on graph paper myself. Are you an architect or just a computer wiz? Have a great trip to VWL. We hope to get there for Christmas someday !! :smooth:

You're welcome! I'm at the tail end of finishing up my M.Arch (about halfway finished with my thesis and then I'm done!)... then a minimum of 3 years "internship", licensing exam, and THEN I can call myself an architect. It seems too far off.

Good luck with your addition!

Lisa
