Flip Flops?

We love our Reef and Rainbow Flip Flops! Take the time to break them in so they mold to your feet and you should be fine. As w/ any shoe, if your foot is not accustomed to it then they might hurt w/ excessive walking. We always wear ours on all vacations, as well as everyday at home...just a way of life I guess. :cool1:

I made the mistake one year of bringing nothing but sneakers on a seven-day trip to Orlando.

By day three, my feet were bleeding and I could barely walk. I bought my first pair of Reefs at the surf shop right around the corner from POTC. They truly saved my feet.

That was in '98. I still have those Reefs, as well as about six more pair I've bought over the years. They last an awful long time.

If you're used to wearing flip flops, wear them. If you're used to sneakers or an enclosed shoe, wear sneakers. Bring a back up, tho, with whatever you decide!

I wear flip flops til it's too darn cold outside. I have three DD's and they all wear flip flops to the parks(granted, my youngest is only 3)...We do all bring tennies so we have something if we need it, but we also bring several different pairs of flip flops. I had only ONE pair that gave me a blister last year. This year I have bought two pair of NIKE flip flops that are soooo comfy, it's like walking on a cloud. I went to Dick's Sporting Goods and tried on a pair of Crocs(Beaches) and the Crocs couldn't compare...the Crocs flip flops did feel abut the same though. The main difference is, on my NIKE ones, the upper is made of a thick stretchy material(probably Lycra) that clings to my foot, yet moves with it also(there's no rubbing whatsoever). I love them. I think it depends on one's feet and the type of flip flop as to whether or not a person can tolerate them all day in the parks. I'm lucky as heck that I'm one who can!

I wore flip flops for the whole trip last August. It was two weeks, and I held up fine.

When I was younger I, too, used to live in flip-flops, sandals, and generally comfy, unstructured shoes. I used them on many trips to WDW. I 'm on my feet all day at work ( I'm a teacher). Extended use of these shoes over time, added to my advancing years, resulted in a case of Plantar Faschiitis in both my feet. I was in constant pain. I couldn't walk from one end of the mall to the other. Even Grocery shopping was torture. I never thought I would be able go back to WDW. After more than a year of physical therapy, wearing night braces, and finally surgery, I walk without pain. BUT I have to wear shoes with support at all times. My podiatrist's advice to me: NEVER go barefoot for more than a few minutes, don't wear unstructured slippers around the house and wear good shoes or walking sneakers with arch supports. Flip-flops and inexpensive sandals are out. You may find them comfortable now, as did I at one time, but it is possible you may also have problems later on in life.

I see people do it, I don't know how. I sure couldn't. Wish I could, though! :)

I banned my daughter from wearing cheap flip flops but did allow her to wear adidas style water sandals at night-gives the feet a chance to breathe, and are sturdier then regular flip-flops.....

It's funny you say that because I was wearing my brother's Adidas sandals while wandering DTD and they broke! The entire side of one of the top flaps broke off the sole and it was the middle of July so the parking lot was too hot to touch with my bare foot. I had to push my foot on top of the sandal to a shady spot(it took 30minutes from where I had been) and wait for my dad to get the car. Now I am paranoid to wear anything that isn't really sturdy to WDW.
