Flip flops other than Teva that won't break bank

Does anyone have plantar fasciitis? I suffer terribly from it and buying shoes, especially summer shoes has become unbearable.

I was just recently diagnosed with this. I was told I should not wear flip flops. I need a cut alternative.

The Cobian Leather Bounce flip flops are even more comfortable than the old Teva Mush and about the same price.

These are very comfortable! BUT I noticed mine get really, really slippery and almost slimy feeling if they get wet. Gross! The leather also stretched out some so they are loose now.

My go-to flip flops are Crocs Capri. Love them!

I also had Reefs but they wore out quickly IMO. Not so much the actual shoe but the fit of it- like the arch compressed down or something?

Yes, the four pair of Crocs I have are the Capri's. I wonder if we should buy some to put up in the closet in case THEY ever change their model!

I do not have plantar fasciitis, but I did notice that several people who reviewed the Montrail Molokini flips mentioned that these worked for them with that condition.

Take a look at Orthaheels. They have a ton of cute styles. However, they are not cheap. I just order a pair from Amazon to the tune of $75. But for me, living pain-free is worth every penny spent!

A few weeks ago I bought some Yoga Mat flip flops from Sanuk at Downtown Disney at Disneyland. Lasted me 2 days there, loooooove them! They were $38 there but are $30 on Amazon.

Yep. These are fantastic! Swapped them out with another pair of shoes for five days at Disney. Love them so much I bought a pair for my two DDs in DTD while we were there! I got mine from either Amazon or Zappos :)

YellowBox. I have tons of feet problems (years of dancing) and these never bother me. I order from belk.com usually.

I wondered why I hated my new Teva Mush flip flops. I honestly wanted to cry after walking around the park in them last trip. I have worn Teva Mush flip flops for the last 4 trips and loved them but these were very painful.

Had I never worn a good pair of Teva Mush, I may like the Yellow Box more. They are slightly comfy and I like all the color combos they come in, but I can not wear mine very long. They are too flat and I need a good arch support.

It is hard to tell from the pictures, but the Sanuk and the Reef also look flat. Do either of these have any arch support or are they like the Yellow Box ones?

Me too and Orthaheel is a godsend especially for a flip flop lover! I swear I don't suffer from p.f. anymore and they were a huge help with it. Check out QVC they have loads of styles and I think it is coming up as a TSV too here soon.

Flojos!! I can't remember the name of them but they are egg crate, pink/grey. Very comfortable! I wear them all day, every day in Disney.

Flojos Exena maybe. I agree they are very comfortable. http://www.zappos.com/flojos-xena?zfcTest=fcl:1

I agree. I love my Sanuks but the first day I wore them in the parks I got a wicked case of shin splints after walking all day and I was icing and limping for a few days after. If you have any issues with your feet I wouldn't suggest them for all day walking.

I thought I was the only oddball that had a hard time wearing Sanuk Yoga Mats for any length of time. They are so comfortable when you first put them on, but by lunch time the shin splints were killing me.

Love my olukais

Oh I soooo agree. I am a flip flop diva, who wears flip flops pretty much year around, but also have plantar fasciitis, so have to be careful which flips I wear. Nothing works better for me than my beloved OluKai Ohanas (not fond of the other OluKai's though). I take at least one pair of my beloved OluKai Ohana's every trip and usually wind up in them for the whole trip. Nothing else even comes close for comfort. They are my number one go to flip flop http://www.zappos.com/olukai-ohana-w-silver-black?zfcTest=fcl:1

Montrail Molokini, best flips ever! Amazon has some colors/sizes for $35ish. When they arrive, you bake them in the oven. Take them out and wear them around so they actually mold to your foot shape! Crazy? Yes, but oh so comfy!:goodvibes

I got my mom started on Montrail Molokini several years ago and they remain her favorite flip flop. I bought a pair when I was looking for something I could wear with my plantar fasciitis and fell in love with them (prior to me finding my beloved OluKai Ohanas0. I liked them so much I tried to talk my mom into buying a pair, but she said there was no way a pair of flip flops were worth $60.00, which is what Zappos (and most other places) were selling them for then. I finally bought her a pair and told her if she didn't think they were worth $60.00 after wearing them for two weeks, then I'd buy any other pair she wanted. I bought me two more pairs and her one pair. When they came in the mail, she tried them on and fell in love with them. I told her they were even more comfortable after they baked for just a minute, because they would then form perfectly to her feet. Even though she had seen me bake my first pair (and laughed her butt off, when I did), she had a fit when I put hers in the oven. She warned me I better not burn her new shoes. After just a couple of days she insisted I order her two more pairs and said she had been wrong and they were worth every penny.:rotfl::rotfl: I still perfer my OluKai Ohanas, but she loves her Montrail Molokinis. http://www.zappos.com/montrail-molokini?zfcTest=fcl:1

My PF is alot better than it was just a couple of years ago, but boy do I remember those days of misery. I thought my flip flop wearing days were over, but went on a quest to find the perfect flip that I might be able to wear. Nothing compares to my beloved OluKai Ohanas, but I can also wear Montrail Molokinis, Orthoheel Tide or Waves, Sketcher Tone Ups, Flojos Exena, and surprisingly the Cobian Leather Bounce. The Cobian Braided Leather Bounce are almost like the old style Teva Mush, but alot more comfortable with an even better arch support. I can't wear my old Teva Mush since I developed PF, but for some reason my feet love the Cobian Braided Leather Bounce and I can wear them all day with no pain. If my PF was acting up though, I'd stick with my beloved OluKai Ohana or maybe the Orthoheels (or maybe the Montrail's). I swear the OluKai Ohanas and the Orthoheels cured my PF.

Thank you for all of those suggestions aubriee! We went out this past weekend, and my DD16 got a pair of Reefs that were really comfortable, but neither my DD13 nor I could wear the Sanuks. :( They were too narrow for us I guess. There weren't many styles of the Reefs so I may just order some of the suggested shoes from Zappos (with free shipping both ways) and just try a bunch out. I know I wanted to stay around $30, but if they are amazing flip flops that would last I would go more. Even the $60 for me, but probably not for my growing girls' feet. :)

I love my Reefs! I just recently got the Stargazer, which is a bit more squishy and molds a little more to my feet - super comfy. I also have a pair of the Sandy - I think. They are great too. They have arch support which is nice, but my feet prefer walking in the Stargazers for longer time. I'll be bringing a bunch of different flip flops. I cannot cover my feet in the summer at all. They like to breathe!! :thumbsup2

Which ones do you normally wear? I see a bunch on belk.com but wondered what style is most comfortable? Thanks!

I'm not the person you asked, but among my Yellow Box, I prefer the Jello C. The sole on them just seems squishier than any of the others (maybe not be as thick, but squishier). Grazie also makes alot of really cute flip flops that are very similar to some of the thicker soled Yelow boxes.

okay, just a short update, now that i'm back from wdw...my teva mush (original) FAILED! my feet hurt SO bad, I wanted to cry, and I've got a GIGANTIC blister on my right foot, it covers almost the entire foot pad. I couldn't even see it until the last day of our trip, so I walked around on it for 2 days. thank goodness I always carry moleskin!

I've never had problems wearing my teva mush in wdw before, I could wear them for days with no issues. perhaps they're just worn out, IDK.

I ordered the Montrail Molokini from Amazon and I am not liking them at all. Very disappointed. I wear 8.5, ordered the 9 from the comments. Not sure if they are too big or what, but they just do not feel good. I don't think baking will make them better. The thing between the toes is also rubbing alot. Back to the drawing board I guess.
