We leave in three weeks. We've never used Air Tran before (nor flown from Flint) and if anything unusual crops up I'll be sure to post here.

We're flying out of Flint in about 1 month. The last time we used Bishop International Airport was in Feb. 2002 for an early morning (around 5:30 a.m.) flight. A few tips that I can think of are to make sure that you arrive plenty early--though the airport is small, that usually means that everyone is arriving for the same flight or same airline. When we were there, Airtran was the only counter open, had only one ticket agent and the line was long and slow moving. We were there early enough, but as we were checking in, they were asking people who were entering the line to proceed directly to the gate (although I don't know if they do that anymore). Sometimes parking can be hard to find, although we have never had a problem and I know that they recently opened up an economy lot across the street w/shuttle service. A friend recently traveled through Flint and said that the security there was much stricter than in the Orlando airport and he advised me to make sure that we were there 2 hours before our flight.

Hope this helps.

You can get any promotional rates by going to www.airtran.com I think they have a mailing list to sign up with, too.

Flint Bishop is so much easier than dealing with metro that you are going to wonder why you didn't try it earlier! We use Bishop almost exclusively for our transportation, except for international travel as it tends to be MUCH cheaper to go to metro for that. Parking is very quick and easy right across the street. The driver for the lot will meet you at your car, when you park it, for a quick pick up to drive you across the street. You could even walk this if you wanted to. I have never had a lot near metro be as quick, or friendly!

We have always gotten through very quickly at Bishop, but as with any airport, who knows when security will tighten up more for the hour, or for the day/week. I have never had a problem there as far as time/speed, but I thoroughly understand that this could happen at Bishop, just as it does anywhere else.

You're going to love the fact you are flying out of Bishop after you go! Cheaper flights, non stops, and less hassle!

We will also be flying out of Bishop in about 3 weeks. I have flown out of there before but it has been over a year ago. It is so much easier I live about 30 minutes(if that) south of there. Last time I didn't see the lot across the street and parked at the airport. It was ok and very close.

The lot is directly across the street. I believe the signage says Economy lot, but I don't remember exactly. I will be up that way in a week for hockey so I'll try to remember to take the long way home and check!

A friend of mine just flew out of Flint last month to Fla. Not MCO but..She liked it much better the Metro!

Hey Mike,
We may be neighbors...We are right across the bridge from Sarnia...

We'll wave as we drive through Port Huron. We live in London, but hit Sarnia a couple of times a year when my daughter's playing hockey. :)
