Flint Airport???

In October, we are flying out of Flint for the first time. Our flight is on a Sunday morning at 6:50am. We are flying SWA so we will be all checked in with boarding passes in hand. We will have one checked bag total and the kids are very experienced with going through security. Any ideas on how early we should plan on getting to the airport? I'm thinking 5:30am would be about right...not too early but still adequate. Does anyone with experience at this airport have any suggestions? Oh, we will be parking on-site and I'm thinking the economy lot will be fine unless there's a distinct advantage to parking in the long-term lot instead.

We just flew from flint to Orlando in January and got there 2 hours early. We had about 45 minutes to kill before our flight started boarding once we got through security.

Yes you will have lots of time. We flew at 7 and got there at 5:40 a little later then I wanted. But we had about 20 mins after sercurity and we started boarding. We also parked in the the economy. It was fine, the shuttle driver even got off and cleaned the snow off of our car with a brush.

Myself, DH and DD are on the same flight! We usually from from Grand Rapids or Detroit, but the price from Flint was just too good to pass up. Thanks for asking the question as I am curious too.

Flint is a nice small airport. We got through security rather quickly (under 15 minutes, this may have been because we got lucky or our early flight, we were the first people their at about 5:30 am on a Sat) The airport seemed empty when we arrived. We parked in long term parking. It cost $73 for 10 days.

I love the Flint airport. I would plan to be there 90 minutes before your flight. The line to check your bag can get long. When we flew in early March, one family arrived very close to their flight time (we were already through and just heading to security). The dad tried to jump the line with his family of 5 and the SWA staff told him they'd have to wait just like everyone else. He started yelling at them and was blaming them for the long lines. It was ridiculous. Anyway, just because it's a smaller airport doesn't mean the lines don't get long. I think I checked the suggested arrival time to the airport on SWA's website and it was 90 minutes.
