I am looking for direct flights from Manchester to Orlando on 27th May til 17th June can anyone recommend where I should look for the cheapest flights?

The cheapest I have found so far is on expedia for £1405 it was cheaper last week! I only paid £1150 last year

Does anyone have any idea when the cheapest time to book normally is?

Thanks

Andrea

Aso are you willing to go indirect or just direct? Orlando Int or Sanford?

Hi

Thanks for replying

There are 2 adults 1 child age 7.

We would prefer to fly direct unless there is a BIG price difference.

We usually fly to MCO to use the Magical Express but again if the price difference is £100 after paying for taxis then Sanford would be fine!

Andrea

Its just a few £'s cheaper if you book direct with Virgin £1,383.40.
Prices are higher this year than last, I have found.
You say you flew Virgin last year? did you join the frequent flyers club? If you did you will have enough mile to book Miles and Money flights, only a small saving but better than nothing, that would cost you £1,224.40 + 6000 of your miles. If you didn't join then if you ever take another Virgin flight make sure you do, this scheme has saved us almost £4,000 in the last 12-18 month.
If you are willing to go indirect then there are lots available, a very quick search found ebookers doing Delta flights Via JFK for £1,078.90.
I am not familiar with flight prices in May/June. Only ever been at that time of year 14 years ago on our 1st visit to Florida so cant really help if these prices are good or not.
Good luck with getting something.

Thanks for looking for me.

We havent joined the frequent flyers club as we only fly once a year so didnt think we would qualify.

How do we join?

Thanks again

You can register now ready for your next flight, then when you book give your flyer #'s and they will add your miles to your account. You would have had 8448 miles added to each account for an economy return flight MAN-MCO. Totalling 16,896 for both of you (under 12's can't join) and they would have been valid for 3 years after your last flight. You then only need 2,000 miles each to get a Miles and Money economy flight. Too late now unfortunately for your last flight (I think you have 6 month to claim).
If you PM me your email address I can refer you, we both get bonus miles added. Once you join then you refer your husband , you both then get a bonus. If you dont want to join through a refferal then join direct at http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/index.jsp
Lots more info on there.
Another way to earn miles is get a Virgin Amex card, they do 2 different ones, the free one earns at a lower rate but I have earned over 10,000 miles in 1st 4 months. Details here http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/g...CWP06&WT.mc_id=uk_cc005&mc=VAA-HP-46292-46628

Hope you followed all that.:)

Depending on the exact dates of your last Virgin flight, you might not be too late to get those miles added to your FF account if you join now.

By my calculations, the 6 month time frame from today, 4 November, would mean you can claim for any flights taken after 4 May. Even if your outbound flight is out of the 6 month limit, you can claim for the return leg separately if it's within 6 months :) However, you'll need details of the flight / booking refs, etc. to claim the 'missing miles'.

If the savings by using Miles+Money v normal fare is greater than £105....it may be worth buying 6000 miles after you have joined the FF club ;)

OK, maybe that link doesn't wotk quite as it should...LOL
Got to ebookerscom and put in your details. Flight is with Delta via JFK.
Good Luck

Unfortunately you cannot claim miles for flights before you have joined the club :( Tried this for DH but they wouldn't accept it!

We did it when we joined for me, DH and 2 x DDs - that's how I know it's possible to credit miles for only one leg of the journey . That was about five years ago though, so they must have moved the goalposts! Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up :(

I joined the virgin miles club this year after our holiday - about 3 months afterwards and I claimed miles for everyone (except youngest daughter).

Claire did you try on their website or phone, I have heard before someone say by phone they could not do it(maybe it was you) I think the website allows it, but not sure.

I would have used the referral but I joined last night I found the flying club whist looking at the flight prices.
Thanks for all the info.
