Flights Over Thanksgiving Weekend

How much more expensive are flight over Thanksgiving than at other times of the year?

I got my kids excited to go to Disney around Christmas, but now my work travel conflicts with our 2017 dates. It looks like the week after Thanksgiving would be the best time to go. I am wondering how bad Friday or Saturday flights are. Unfortunately, we would need to book our DVC before flight prices come out, so I am a little scared since 6 of us will be flying out and also renting a car! TIA!

Just as expensive as any other holiday. The airlines know this and hike up the fares.

I have had good success flying on Thanksgiving day.

My DD came home from Kissimmee on thanksgiving day nonstop, for $89, MCO to BDL (CT) and returned the Tuesday after for $84.

I think the holiday itself is typically pretty reasonable. The weekend days before or after are generally high.

I know on our recent trip to DL, our flight home the Sunday before Thanksgiving started out high and stayed high. It hardly moved. We flew half way across the country to LA for $59 but the cheapest the return trip got was $150 (and that was when we caught it in a very brief dip).
