Keep your eyes on flight prices!

So glad I booked our JetBlue flights early, the price just went up $40 per person, per direction (which would be $320 for my family).

Good luck everyone.

Southwest prices went up today as well....but I've found they usually go up over the weekend and then come back down on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

yes, this is Airtran's pattern too. I never shop for flights over the weekend, unless a sale is announced.

Still shopping for Sept and Nov:surfweb:

I recommend watching your flights from time to time. Ours is with SW from PVD to MCO and it has been going up and down.

I've changed our return flights 2 times already because the later times and non-stop flights have gone down to the price I paid for the earliest flight which is at 7AM which means 4Am wakeup call. Now our return is at 12:45pm :cool1:

Luckily we had some Delta miles or we'd be paying a fortune from Boston for our Aug trip. I feel bad for my in-laws though b/c they haven't booked yet. Bestfares predicted yesterday that prices would jump today so looks like they were right. I'm thinking they'll have to come down again b/c if you check the seat availability (esp on JetBlue) the planes will be flying down there empty if they don't!

We'd been watching MCO-DFW fares to book our return in December (got the outbound a few months ago for about $100 each) and got em today for (drumroll, please) $77 dollars each! I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the fare; they've been @$200 each one way. On AA; nonstop.

We needed 5 tix, one-way, BDL-MCO for the first week in August. For the longest time on SW they were $160+ pp. Last week they went down to $94pp. Jumped on the non-stop at $94. Doubt I'll do better than that.

Wow, that's great. SW hasn't budged at all from PVD for the 3rd week of Aug.

looking at flights out of Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving weekend. The prices are outrageous right now!

We just booked ours with Jetblue because of a price drop. Saved over $800

Thanks for the SWA weekday tip - I had just resigned myself to expensive flights with oil rates going up. Just saved over $350 on two tickets based on new pricing on the website compared to last weekends rates....WOW....BWI to ORD at $206 RT sounds right. The original costs were nuts. Maybe we should buy those additional DVC points!! :O)

we may be driving with the 4 of us

Check flights on Southwest out of philly for August...My flights went down again to $79 each way. I originally paid $137 ea way and now I have a credit of $580!!!:yay::yay: By the way my flights are Aug 9 & 17th. Good Luck!

We are flying down at the end of August as well. We were looking at Sun. depart out of EWR and Fri return. The prices went through the roof! Leaving on Sat. brought the prices more in line and we don't have to wake up before the chickens.

Can't believe how much flights have gone up. I travel to MCO many times per year on business and recall booking an August flight last year within 7 days of departure for $180. This year, months in advance and the prices have doubled.

Watch the fares now and look at options. Plus, planes are filling up already for the more popular times.

Looks like SW raised fares $5 across the board - again. The return flight I did want, from MCO to ISP, is now $264 one-way. A couple other flights the same day are $282. It's completely ludicrous. We ended up getting one early the next morning for $163. We'll have to crash at an airport hotel for a while though.

I was looking at flights for the end of July on Delta. Was waiting on AP rates to book a room. Flights went up about $15 a ticket each way.

Not sure if a summer trip is in our future since AP rates are not so good and flights prices have gone up too.

we are looking for October 27th (depart) and October 31st (return); RDU to MCO. What do you all think about holding out for a DING for this time period? I know that we won't be able to use the credit that we will have if we book now and the price goes down because we will not being flying again until August of 2012 so that's why I'm holding off on booking something. Do you think middle of August is too late to book a flight for the end of October?

That's a tricky one. Fuel prices may possibly come down sharply towards the end of the summer. So you may do well waiting. Plus, if you're looking for a DING, those are ususally for flights in the near-term anyway. However, I know the anxiety that can be invlved in trying to wait it out.

I am in the same place. It really stinks :lmao:
